While visiting the Sanctuary while on a trip to Bologna, we decided to have lunch in this restaurant on the hill as the sanctuary was closed for an hour. The service as good, the menu in Italian and English. Staff spoke good English. My pizza was gorgeous and my husband had a light snack which was still very filling. Bonus... More

We had taken a public bus up to see San Luca (again - the first time in 1996). It was the lunch hour and so we walked down the hill just a bit and got a table in this establishment. It was a pleasant place with a typical Bolognese menu. My wife had tagliatelle and I had salsiccia. They were... More

Not your typical pizzeria. The restaurant has a wide menu of italian food and a good selection of wines and beers. We had pizzas and local brewed beers. The service was good but could have been friendlier.

This was my third time there but everytime I walk out feeling a little disappointed. The menu lacks fresh items, fruits for desserts and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is one of too many things going on in the deco and on the menu. One thing for sure is that there should be tortellinis in brodo on the menu,... More

As my wife is visiting me in Bologna we walked up to the Santuario together as I had already been up here a little while back, so decided to have lunch in this restaurant. We chose a Medea salad to share and it was huge and delicious and even had slices of pear in it! I chose my favourite capriccosa... More

Excellent Pizza not the best but very good, the service is very professional and friendly. The location is amazing. You can look over all the city of Bologna.

The area of San Luca is beautiful and the food at Vito only compliments it. We had amazing meals the pizza is fantastic and the Lasagna Classica is out of this world. Along with a few glasses of wine, it was an amazing experience. When we get back to Bologna we will definately visit it again.

So i visited this place in September 2016 in a business trip, the food was great, but the waiters speak poor english, the decorations are horrible and dirty, and to get there, you must be prepared to brave bad roads and bad drivers. However, good food for good price means three stars, more than adequate.

Expecting the only place to eat near the hilltop Basilica would be a touristic rip off selling substandard food, we had to backtrack. We liked the quirky rustic interior, the jolly staff & ate a surprisingly good, inexpensive lunch. Salads were generous, obviously freshly made; the pizza thin, crisp, freshly cooked & delicious. The pizza menu was one of the most... More

This pizzeria may not have to worry about competition, situated as it is on the hill at San Luca, but it provided a very welcome respite from the rain for my mother and I. Pizza, beer, coffee and a warm roof over our head. I enjoyed my Pizza Fangio, which I think included spicy sausage of some kind. Anyway, we... More
