And very popular with locals (I think we may have been the only tourists) arriving in a steady stream on a very busy Saturday in what is anyway a very popular part of the city right amongst the fantastic food shops. We ate a tagliatelle with ragi and a tortelloni with asparagus and ham, washed down with the local Pignoletto... More

Il Calice stands out in a crowded area of restaurants because of its impeccable outdoor service: quick but not rushed, friendly, professional, a delight to watch and experience. Great menu. The food delicious. Prices reasonable. Not to be missed!

Very popular location with outdoor service and upstairs indoor seating. Starters were fine but the main dishes less so. Friendly service. No seats on the toilets which customers had difficulty in flushing. Had we stuck to what most of the locals were eating (selection of cold meats with cheese, I believe it colud have been a better experience.

We had an inexpensive dinner, sharing a large shrimp salad, lasagna bolognese, tagliatelle ragu, water, and wine for only 45 euros. The restaurant is outdoors, on busy Via Clavature. We were amused at the street vendors selling lighters in the shape of a toilet, along with other trinkets. Just a firm "no" was enough to send them off to the... More

Right in the heart of the bar and restaurant district off Piazza Maggiorre, you eat on the second floor. Choose a table next to the windows to enjoy great people watching as you eat. We ate here twice and thought the eggplant parmigiana and the lasagna were excellent and reasonably priced.

We'd been wandering around for a while and were hungry so pretty much just sat down at the first decent looking place. Turned out to be a good choice, we had decent melanzane parmigiana and tortellini plus some nice wine and the service was good. A good stop in a busy area.

We stopped in a Couple of Sundays ago on our first day in Bologna. Simple food prepared very well. There were several local craft beers on the menu, and the waiter brought my third IPA. Good prices.

We were wandering the narrow back streets of Bologna when we came upon Il Calice. The staff were efficient and fast with our drinks even though it was the busy lunch time rush. We noticed a lot of people were having the Lasagne (local speciality) so we gave it a go, we weren't disappointed!! was delicious. Great place to rest... More
