This is the type of pub/restaurant that you find by luck or by listening to those who have been visiting the Trieste town before. The Osteria da Marino is a rugby bar, but the sports is not that important. What is important is the nice ambient at this little place with its pleasant staff and great selection of wine and... We went here for dinner during our stay in Trieste and it was really great! Best food we ate in Trieste and I will definitely be recommending it to anyone going there!

It's hard to label this place, so I think it's best to think a rugby bar from a decent town, BUT one that serves incredible simple food, and an incredible selection of drinks. The beef dishes we are we no frills, but amazingly tasty. It's a confused place, but we enjoyed it. Take it for what it is.

I enjoyed the spritz and the white wine very much. The staff is also very kind and quick. I was so happy to have been there. You should try this place. 👍

What's not to like? The owner is an ex-rugby player and the back room is decorated with rugby memorabilia. We bonded with our nice young waiter and tried a large selection of local wines - stuff you don't see in California! Food is good but not out of the ordinary. This was a great evening sampling different grapes and watching... More

The staff was very friendly and flexible, we had a wonderful dinner (quite big portions!). The place was full, but they were really fast, and the atmosphere is simply great.

We waited more than an hour for our two pasta which turned out to be just average. Nothing to be remembered. Probably better as a pub where to have a few beers watching a rugby match on TV.

The table d'hote was ample and delicious. The buffala and gnocchi appetizers were excellent. The mains were large and well prepared. The veal "brochette" was delicious throughout. The 3-meats platter looked good and tasted great. The steak for two was an adventure in itself. Wait staff were helpful, but restricted to Italian. The only thing that put a negative note... More
