I had hot chocolate in Slovenia, and it was like a thick chocolate pudding. It was really good, but it wasn't life changing. Then I visited Chocolat in Trieste. This hot chocolate is life changing. It looks like straight Hershey's syrup, but it would be insulting to compare this drink to anything American. It was thick, and hot, and some... More

We go to Italy a lot and I eat a LOT of ice cream and I have to say this is the best I have ever had. The Black Forest and the salted caramel are just out of this world. If you like ice cream don't miss this place. I'm going to Trieste today and just realized it's closed on... More

We expected more. The coffee flavoured ice cream was nice enough, but the vanilla wasn't that great. The cones were average, threw the end pieces away.. We prefer waffle cones with a nice ice cream. Price was good though.

It's chocolate; it's delicious, and you should definitely go. We were there in the summer and had read about the great hot chocolate, so we went and ordered some. The barista corrected us "no, no hot chocolate! Cold chocolate! It's summer!" Cold chocolate and a danish were the perfect treat.

The Chocolat is located in the pedestrian area of Trieste and can therefore be easily included in a stroll around the city centre. They offer a big variety of wonderful (mostly chocolate) icecream which you can enjoy on a table on the pedestrian street. Their prices are really justified for what you get.

During my stay in Trieste this was my go-to place for capo in bi (the local coffee speciality). After a few visits the barista knew my preferences and I felt very welcome there. There is also a wonderful selection of chocolates and seasonal delicacies (halloween themed cookies, ice-cream in summer...) Big table outside, lovely on sunny sutumn days. Can be... More

This was a great place for gelato! We ended up walking the LONG way there from our house but that just made it that much more refreshing! The inside of the store is air conditioned (although very small) but on a day of 37 degrees, this was very welcome. The price was the best we've found so far: €1/scoop. I... More
