Down a side street 5 minutes from Principe Station, I had this restaurant to myself on a cold February evening. Fabulous starter of stockfish in a lettuce leaf with olive tapenade bruschetta followed by a less spectacular but competent meat ravioli. 35 euros including 2 glasses of decent house wine

Food was absolutely amazing, and really reasonably priced. Definitely not a tourist trap, and very close to Principe station

Popped in for dinner and found the staff to be friendly, the food good. The entrance is in a courtyard, in from the street. Clientele was mostly non-Italians. Pasta with pesto genovese (of course) was delicious. Dinner for two with drinks came to $43.

Great place for a simple but tasty lunch. Gnocchi with gorgonzola and well served house wine. Great place outside the rush area and real tip for joining the local population for lunch.

Wandering through the alleyways of Genoa, I looked up a narrow vico and saw something interesting. When I reached it, I realised that it was an old covered communal washing area, but it was no longer being used for this: now it was an outside area for eating lunch! The food was simple, but tasty. Stuffed ravioli was followed by... More

I had octopus with seasonal vedgies which were porcini and zucchini. Ultimo delizioso. The staff can be proud of their selves. They really knew their profession.

This local pub is popular with the city's youth and consequently was too noisy, if you are past 30- something, when we visited. The food is good value for volume but plain, uninspired, and overcooked. Service is brisk and only about getting the food to you and the dishes cleared. Otherwise, you are on your own. The Aperol spritz was... More

Climb down a steep staircase and discover a delightful eatery on your right. My polenta with sausage was delicioso. This spot appeared to have many lunchtime locals enjoying the menu as well.

Recommended to us as a supper venue by the Hotel Nuovo Nord in Genoa. Although the waitress struggled with English, she managed to translate the menu, which was very typical of the Genoese cuisine and we had a really lovely afternoon/evening. We were even offered bread with fresh Olive oil, literally priocessed that afternoon! Still green! Highly recommended for the... More

We went here with an Italian friend, on recommendation from another. We only had about three hours to spend between trains for lunch, so didn’t want to go too far from the station. We arrived at noon, and although the restaurant doesn’t open till 12:30, they were happy to let us sit with our aperitivi until the tables were ready... More
