Arrogant waiters approach you like you are trespassing Buckingham Palace. Waiting time exceeds human patience. Food fills 15% of plate area. Check needs 15 mins to be delivered. Sorry for not returning in the future.

Don't get me wrong! Given the options someone has regarding dining in this street, this place is probably one I would recommend. However, you should keep in mind that the place is somehow too loud - keep in mind I am Greek, so I am not being strict on voice issues. If you visit soon, try the rabbit, or fish... More

We had a dinner in Al Pont de Ferr, Chef prepared Five Course Dinner! Very friendly staff and service. We stared with prosecco with some anti pasto . Was wonderful experience , beautiful food with nice wine . Chef recommend us to have Grappa with Chocolate Cigar dessert . A true Italian experience .

Centrally located on the Naviglio Grande, this restaurant, in the style of old Milan, offers a variety of very creative dishes accompanied by a palette of refined wines. We have tried ravioli al pesto and veal steak with fresh vegetables, both of excellent quality. Not to forget home-baked savoury muffins, incredibly tasty. For dessert, we chose tarte-tatin, and to our... More

We ate here on Sunday the 19th of March and had high hopes reading the reviews on tripadvisor. This was our favourite ever dining experience. All courses were out of this world and the staff were terrific. Don't visit Navigli without coming here!

Beyond a small "amuse bouche" now offered at fancy restaurants, tiny sizes are absurd for starters or appetizers, especially when they are expensive. In this pricey locanda the recommended caramelized onion at € 18 wasn't enough even for one person, although it was very pretty to look at inside a spectacular glass flask. SImilarly the spaghettoni entree was miserly. Other... More

I spent a long time previewing and analyzing the restaurants in the Navigli area, and reading many TripAdvisor reviews...I finally narrowed my list down to 10 restaurants...this was my second choice--my first choice was totally booked for the entire time of our visit...Even though it's off-season, the Navigli area is visited by MANY people..We chose the 50 euro tasting menu,... Along with my son in Milano, me on business and him starting Erasmus, choose Al Pont de Ferr to take our dinner since we were in the neighborhood . Cozy atmosphere, friendly service and, above all, great food at the end . Al Pont de Ferr is a kinda gourmet restaurant. Ones can choose amongst "menu degustazione" or "a la... More

We make this a "must-do" every time we are in Milan and today's meal was just as good as always. Situated in the Naviglio district on Ripa Di Porta Ticinese canal the restaurant delivers an eccentric mix of food and mood with great service and a wonderful wine list. Our lunch of two courses was just €20 each and represented... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
