We enjoyed gnocco fritto with some salami and cheeses. Perfect match! Try red wine as well. It is typical for that region. Oh and the deserts....you can not go wrong!

We had a lovely dinner here of gnocco fritto - a type of fried, puffed bread that you eat with plates of meat and cheese. We also enjoyed the meaty wild boar pasta and friendly service!

We stumbled across this place by accident after another restaurant we were heading for was closed...& we were so glad we did! It was very busy so had about a half an hour wait for a table but it was definitely worth it. The Gnocco Fritto are delicious & you get an unlimited amount - they just keep filling the... More

Definitely a highlight of our Sunday! After waiting a bit to be seated due to the booked out restaurant, we were welcomed by very busy yet super friendly waiters. Choice of antipasti (cold cuts and various types of cheeses) was overwhelming and all looked super yummy. Accompanied by these addictive gnocco fritto, it was close to be a trap for... More

Being fair to this place, I really don't think I'm their target customer. I was travelling on my own for business - I think this is probably a great place to eat if there's a group of you but the menu's not really designed for one (and perhaps not for couples if you don't want to share). The gnocco fritto... More

This restaurant which is located just off the canal serves up a the typical italian dish from the region of Emilia Romagna. The freshly fried bread pockets are so good stuffed with the selection of cold cuts and cheese. Its quite an experience and totally delicious!!

The Gnocco is not the most popular nor well know Italian dish, but its amazing and this might be the best place in Milan to try it. Gnocco is a very particular pasta-bread that usually must be accompanied by a mix of cold meat (misto de salumi - ie Parma ham) and cheese (misto di fromaggio). If you don't like... More

Delicious food, great service and extremely full bellies! Can't wait to go back!!! Definitely get the bottomless basket of gnocco frittos with the meat and cheese and ham spreads!! It's one of the best I had my 3 weeks in Italy!

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
