Small authentic bar with Parma ham, salami and bread. Accompanied by wine in a bowl made a complete rustic experience.

This restaurant was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. Not only was it open all day and on the weekend (when most restaurants are closed), but the food and wine was amazing. The gnocchi melts in your mouth, and the lambrusco was a treat. Would definitely recommend to escape the shopping crowds!

They do have an English menu but most items are not translated into English...you will need to know beforehand the names of Italian cheeses, meats, etc. Wait staff did not know much English but we managed okay. Everything we ordered (caprese, meat plate, polenta, meat with cheesy mashed potatoes) was simply prepared and straight forward. Great quality ingredients with reasonable... More

This apparently small place is a wonderful place for tasting Eilia Romagna food and wine. very lagre choice of prociutto and culatello, wine served in scodelle (bowls); extremely kind personnel, and crowded with local italian connoisseur. And at reasonable prices Relly a place to come back to

I went for lunch to this Emilian little restaurant. The place is stuffed with guests, and 90% of them are locals. This is of course usually a good sign and it was this time, as well. I had some great Strolghino with a decent Umbrian wine. A drawback for me is that they do not serve coffee, probably because they... More

We decided to stop by here for a quick lunch on our way to catch trains to the airport. There was a waiting list when we arrived, which we joined. A half an hour later they told us they had a table for us, but no place for our bags (which we'd been standing with the whole time!) So we... More

I read about Salsamenteria on T.A. and decided it would be worth looking for. After asking several nice police guards for directions, i m pleased to say, it was worth the trouble! Delicious, cozy, resonably priced and ooohhh so fresh! Gotta love that paper thin prosciutto!! Go find it! Its truly worh it!

Very simple very honest genuine people; mainly locals when we were there. Prosecco served in large "coffee cups/porcelain bowls". Not a gourmet destination as such but depending on what you are really after could be a far better bet than the overpriced restaurants in the atrium area by the cathedral. It is a light lunch place but great fun. Inexpensive... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
