I had the pleasure to taste the cuisine of the famous Cracco restaurant. Everything has been as ones would expect from one of the most famous Italian chefs. The arrival, the service, the attention to all details...outstanding! I had the sole for starter and my friend had the spaghetti, as main I had the great fusilli and he had the... More

Its a cool, rich build-out of a restaurant with a couple of Michelin stars. That is where it ends. I needed to keep flagging down a server for bread or drinks. They are trying the molecular gastronomic approach for Italian cuisine and it just does not work. So expensive! 570 euros for the 2 of us..........we had 4 glasses of... More

We went to Cracco saturday night to celebrate my birthday. We planned this about a month ago, made a reservation and it was just a great evening!!! We started with a glas of Dom Perignon, followed by the first plates from the chef. The food quality is absolutely worth it! Dished are composed of simple ingredients but brilliantly combined into... From the start, we had a bad feeling. There for 10 minutes without being given a menu or offered a drink, multiple staff buzzing around but not a lot happening. The first 'welcome' arrived before a drink. Three 'welcomes' later (the last a bowl of lentils) we we were served our meal. Uninspiring and the Veal Milanese plainly ridiculous. Three... More

I will begin by stating that I am Italian and a great lover of Italian cuisine which, in my mind is based on using great ingredients and doing the minimum necessary to bring the best out of them. Meat, fish, vegetables, cooked to perfection in addition to pasta and rice is what italian food is all about I was invited... More

Sorry, bit of a rant... So first let's establish that I have eaten in many fine dining restaurants around the world including many with Michelin stars. I know what to expect from a two star restaurant. My husband and I dined at Cracco last week for his birthday and it was such a disappointing experience I almost can't believe it.... More

Rather than using TripAdvisor to research restaurants in Milan, I decided to consult Guide Michelin in the hope that my specific expectations could be met. TripAdvisor is a great resource, but with so many differing expectations it can be difficult to match the type of diner you are with someone else. All I wanted was an exemplary meal regardless of... Ingredient combinations were very unusual (dessert: milk chocolate with peas and lentils), but after tasting it totally made sense. Dishes from White Truffle menu - just amazing. Not only dishes were amazing, but there really were loads of white truffle. After I asked for Bailey's with my dessert, waiter made a special effort to find one, because originally they do... More

I'm a regular visitor to Michelin stars restaurants all around the world and I have to admit I've never been so disappointed by a restaurant supposed to be one of the best in Milan and Italy... Food was average and below expectations Still wondering how people could rate it 5/5, which means they haven't been to many gastronomy options elsewhere...... More

After a friendly start we decided to order from the menu and not the tasting . The amuse b was simple and bread based and lacking taste. Our starters we ok but not great. Second was too rich for my wife and my saffron rice with marrow was tasteless and the marrow was over cooked. Both main's we Just good... More

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
