Caffe Pedrocchi is a Paduan insitution. Opening in 1831 when this part of the country was under Austrian rule the founder, Antonio Pedrocchi, decided to curry favour with his masters and create a café in the grand Viennese manner. Hugely popular with students from the second oldest university in Italy and also with poets and intellectuals- both Byron and Stendahl... More

With all due respect, Cafe Pedrocchi offers an elegant ambience. The menu selection and the prices would categorize this place as "luxury" level. However, the bathroom is horrendously dirty and the service is slow (20min wait for 2 fresh juices). The maitre was chatting away with his friends/customers in the coffee shop and hardly was keeping an eye on the... More

ok, I thought 'how great this could be. expresso with mint'. well, they have exceeded my expectation. I was expecting either 1. bitter taste from expresso to overwhelm the favor or 2. Strong mint taste to overwhelm the favor. I was wrong. it was a perfect mixture where neither taste was too strong. a light flavor where I was able... More

We had a lovely, relaxed break from sight-seeing in this historic caffee. We had their eponymous coffee (cream, mint and coffee) and we all enjoyed it. I look forward to going back again.

Very suggestive place to get some hot chocolate, drinks, or snacks, or meals for the most adventure. The settings is a very luxurious set up, with comfortable chairs and decently spaces around. I got hot chocolate which came be 6 euro per person. So the portions were very big, but the price a bit high compare of what it is.... More

We made a quick stop to "check the box". It was good. We wanted a couple of Zabagliones. They only had one. I would definitely take the time to sit and take in the ambiance and read the history of the building that Rick Steve's provides.

On a Globus tour we had only a short time to enjoy the main squares of gorgeous Padua. A prepaid "excursion" took us to the wonderful Caffe Pedrocchi, where we experienced a true Italian "apericena" in exqusite, historic surroundings. Great intro to the delicious spritz cocktail (Aperol bitters and Prosecco) which apparently originated in Padua and is popular all over... More
