Our friend recommended this to us. It is not in the tourist area but a place local will go. Food is great and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommend it. If you are adventurous enough, try "Spaghetti Al Nero Di Seppia", Pasta with Squid...More

Following the recommendation of our Airbnb host, we (two families of 3 adults and 4 kids ages 10-16) sought out da Alberto for lunch on a recent vacation to Venice. On a Tuesday afternoon, it wasn't crowded - just a few people at the bar...More

some things are good ... - pasta dish of pumkin broccoli cheese was good; can taste every ingredient - service was prompt - tiramisu has amaretto (as it should) ... and others are terrible - house wine was like vinegar - meat was hard and...More

No corporate dining here nor pictures of dishes on the walls. Delicious food presented in a no fuss manner by an owner who cares about what he does. The seafood risotto was divine. It’s not a big place so make a reservation. It’s worth it!

On the plus side, good prices for Venice, generally well prepared food. On the bad side, we ordered 1 antipasti for 2,and a primi piatto (risotto) which required 2 person minimum. I asked to keep the menu with me so we could look further and...More

Osteria da Alberto was one of the best places for typical Venetian food recommended in our travel guide - and the guide is absolutly right! Da Alberto is an unpretentious restaurant with a couple of simple tables but very tasty food. We came for lunch...More

Venice, like most tourist cities, is full of places to eat. This one is tucked away from main tourist haunts. Real food, house wine by the carafe and nice atmosphere. Probably would never find again without sat nav. It felt good enough to give a...More

For our last night in Venice, we decided to follow what Rick Steves said was the best restaurant in Venice, and he was right. The food here is very classically Venetian and really gives taste for the culture. The service was good, but nothing compared...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Karen, I suggest that you call the restaurant in Venice to book a table as I am not the owner. I live in Australia.
