Super food. It was a good sign when sitting by the kitchen we saw the "grandmother" in the kitchen. The place was impecable. The food took sometime to arrive because it was cooked right on the spot when ordered. What arrived was deliciously prepared. The guests was a mixture of locals and tourists. The service friendly and family style. This... More

This osteria is good though not the best food in Venice. A safe bet. Friendly welcome and pleasant typical cuisine from Venice

My partner and I discovered the garden when we took a wrong turning while exploring Venice. I thought it looked so pretty, I made him promise to bring me back for supper the following evening. The food was pleasant, service was unrushed (I had to ask for several things which irks me slightly, but that seems to be the laid-back... More

Wonderful night, wonderful food, the service is very slow but why rush dinner in Venice, enjoy the night. Be careful if the water in Venice has risen because the restaurant is prone to flooding as we found when our feet were sploshing in the water, easily fixed, we were moved to another table.

Recommended by hotel manager and reviews on here seemed ok. Single waiter and full restaurant led to 55 mins in and we had just finished first course. Do not have the prawns, rocket n lemon starter unless you have read this, it was literally cool shelled mini prawns on some rocket leaves with a slice of lemon, 17 euros! The... More

We came here per Lonely Planet & TripAdvisor recommendation, and the location is in between Santa Croce and Rialto. We had sea bass and pasta with clams and they were very tasty and perfectly done. However, the service can be improved on 2 areas: it was slow as there was only 1 server and try to ask the customer first... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
