Wonderful place to have dinner and try some real Venetian food. We had a crab and some small scallops to start. Fantastic! Make sure you have a reservation. Especially if you want to sit outside. Or come very early and hope for the best.

I have fond memories of our dishes here. We came here actually by mistake, looking for another restaurant. We were a bit early apparently, only one other table, but they were Italian business people, a good sign then we thought. So we stayed. So glad we did! Two different seafood pastas and a nice home carafe of red wine. I... More

Run by the owner, Lorris. Small resturant i two rooms and a very small Kitchen. Good Food at a good price. Choose different starters. we had king crab, schrimp slad and octopus With polenta. Spagetti and lobster at main course was al dente, good.

This place is terrible. Food is overpriced tourist rubbish. Service was crap. The Parma Ham starter was 25 euro for 6 slices of Parma Ham from a packet. They stopped paying any attentions to our table after the main course. Waited 30 minutes for the bill. Owner ignored us on the way out too. Avoid.

Went here for a nice family dinner. We were recommended this place by locals and it didn't disappoint. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasted great. Would recommend this to everyone to try if you love seafood. Dessert isn't bad either and Italian should be ordered. Enyoy

Totally awesome food. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Quirky traditional trattoria. So pleased we stumbled upon this gem

Friendly, attentive waiters made sure our visit to this canal-side restaurant was everything we hoped for.

I've commented previously on Rick Steves' advice regarding hotels. Let me make a comment here about one of his restaurant recommendations. We went to this restaurant for dinner on his advice and it was the worst dining experience we have ever had. I must admit that the location was great (it is on a canal and seating is outside). But... Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
