This place was full of locals, making it one of the most authentic eateries we tried in Venice. Perhaps as a result, the staff didn't seem too welcoming of us tourists. However, the sandwiches were good and it was interesting to get a more realistic...flavour of Venetian life.More

A very reasonably priced, very welcoming bar frequented by locals. Great place for a cold beer or a pick me up espresso. Highly recommended.

Amazing hospitality from Alessandro. Great drinks (one might want to water them down), really good sandwiches, fair prices. And most importantly, exceptional choice of music. Loved it and kept coming back over our short stay in Venice.

Tucked a bit out of the way, this is a nice bar with plenty of indoor seating. We had a couple of negronis. Tasted good. Staff were friendly but the music was too loud for us and meant that we moved on.

Great place to pop in for a nice quick lunch, food was fresh, authentic and very tasty. All very reasonably priced. If you want somewhere a bit less of a tourist trap that the locals go to then look no further.

This was one of the first places we went for a lunch time beer and a quick snack. Not disappointed. Snacks were simple but flavorsome, beer was good and the setting was great. Added plus was the service was slick and efficient. Just what we...were looking for, I would go back.More

We wanted a small lunch or snack and this was the perfect place. They had a variety of sliders for 2 Euro each. The beers were 6 Euro. Friendly service and good choices.

After a morning of touring Venice on a blustery day in March, my family of four was getting hungry, cold and cranky. Birreria Forst was like a life preserver thrown to a drowning swimmer. First of all, they have hotdogs. For Americans with kids under...the age of 15, it's likely that nothing more needs to be said here. Secondly, it was a tropical isle of reasonably-priced food in a vast sea of prices that make your jaw drop. Venice is a really expensive place to eat, folks. I get it, all the food has to be brought in by boat, and then hand-carted over bridges that were probably built a thousand years ago, but still. Birreria Forst provides a selection of small, open-faced sandwiches (can't recall the word in Italian) with a variety of cold cuts, fish, etc, and each one only costs a couple of euros. My wife and I got a half dozen of these to share and a large beer each, plus the kids got hotdogs and hot chocolate, and we still got out of there for less than 40 euros. Third, everything was good. The food was delicious, interesting and filling. The beer selection was excellent. Lastly, the service was super friendly. Our waitress spoke excellent English and doted on the kids. Even though they were busy, we never had to wait for anything. They actually seemed pretty happy that we were there, and thankful for our business, which is not a given at many establishments. Only warning: the place is pretty small and seating is limited. At peak hours, a table may be hard to come by. Overall, this place gets my heartiest recommendation!More

I went last evening for an aperitiv plus tramezzini. At the moment of the bill (€22.00) The bar-tender kindly said he could only accept credit-card payments for amount above 30€,because the owner has decided so.... I dind’t complain because the person with me took immediately...the cash out but this is NOT acceptable in the year 2018. There is law that says that you MUST accept credit-cards payment, with no minimum amount....More

After roaming around Venice, we asked one of the locals a good place to have a bite for lunch and recommended us this place. The place is small, but my God- their porchetta sandwich (tramezzini) is soooo good, we had to get another order. They’re...not pricey either and the staff is great. I will definitely make it a point to stop by here for a sandwich, espresso or local beer the next time around!More
