Cosy place to stop by for a wine and chicetti. Good variety wines by the glass. Prices are fair. Great place for wine lovers.

My wife and I ate here twice - recommended to us by a local. It's a small place that was busy every time we walked passed and the recommendation didn't disappoint. We enjoyed a delicious sit down meal one night and amazing cicchetti (tapas style food) with a couple of Spritz for lunch. If we were staying in Venice longer,... More

My husband and I ate here last night and had such a wonderful experience. He ordered a steak (the most tender steak we've had in a while) and I ordered Tuna with pistachio and sundries tomatoe cream. With wine, water, desert and coffee (they even offered limoncello) we ate under 60€. You don't find better quality, quantity, or a price... More

Went there for three times in four days. Absolutely delicious everything. From small appetisers which you pick from the counter to main dishes. Tuna steak is to die for and ravioli I had was just amazing. Staff is also very friendly. Prices are fair. Highly recommended and will be missed!

Returned after 3 years and it's still as good. Clear prices, cheerful staff. Favoured by locals. Great atmosphere.

We found it really hard to find bars in Venice where you could just go for a drink. Stumbled across this bar and loved it. The atmosphere was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. Great beers on offer and at 6 Euros a pint was one of the most reasonable around. Food was a choice of snacks/tapas... More

We stumbled onto this place looking for something else....what a pleasant surprise. It was busy, service was very good and we had fun time choosing from the snack menu to accompany our drinks. We hope to be able to find it again!

We stumbled upon this little gem of a bar while roaming the streets of Venice looking for a glass of wine and a small bite. Hanging out around the bar is quite popular so it might feel a bit cramped but you can retreat to the back to sit down. We had some absolutely delicious sandwiches and wine. We seemed... More

Description
Founded in 1936 in the heart of Venice, in the Calle Cavalli street, very close to the Rialto bridge and the Rossini cinema, our wine bar offers its customers a cosy and peaceful atmosphere, with a familiar touch given by the wooden decorations which are the same that characterized the ancient "bacari", the places where people stopped to have a "cicheto" (small portion of typical food) and an "ombra de vin" (glass of wine).

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
