We had the option of either a 7pm reservation or a 9.30. The restaurant had been highly recommend by a friend so we did want to go and opted for the 7pm. Thank goodness we did. We were first in the restaurant but it soon...More

This intimate family-run osteria on a quiet Cannereggio canal has a small but outstanding menu of Venetian dishes. The housemade pasta is excellent, salads are generous and tasty, and the fish and meat plates were really delicious (curried lamb chops, turbot). The wine list is...More

finally... after some rather disappointing dinners in Venice, we had our best so far here in the Osteria da Rioba. the raw fish appetizer was delicious, as were the gnocchi with shrimps, but the coda di rospo really made the day with its crispy nuts...More

It’s tough to get a bad meal in Venice. There are so many restaurants that each must strive hard to be competitive and survive. Consequently the Tripadvisor ranking is not as meaningful here as in other places - pricing is the best indicator of the...More

Food average, definitely but not memorable. Apparently rosemary and sun dried tomatoes don't bring as much flavour as one would think. We expected much better at this price point. To be fair, the wines were nice. Service was ok until we asked for the check,...More

This place is in a different level compared to other places we tried in Venice. The restaurant promises modern interpretations of classical Venetian dishes which is exactly what you get. The prices are slightly above many other places, the quality far beyond. The portions are...More

As other reviewers have said high prices for average food and service. Location is great off the main drag and could be a great place but food okay and service well maybe the waiter was arrogant or not enjoying his job if so go somewhere...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

we looked the menu up on line before going to Venice. We went for evening meal and there was no sign of a buffet then.
