Over the years I have eaten at Da Raffaele several times. The quality of the food has deteriorated and the service my girlfriend and I received the last time was poor. They were rushing us out the door when we had yet to finish our meal. Very expensive with additional fees and a 12% service charge on top of that!

What a nice meal we had at our first restaurant in Venice. We both had the handmade tortellini with peas, ham in a cream sauce. Excellent! We paired it with wine which was nice as well. Nice place sitting right on the water way watching the gondolas go by.

This restaurant was hyped before we went, but we didn't really warm up to it! Service a little stiff to distant, food ok, but we had so many better meals in Venice! Maybe when it's warm enough to sit outside the atmosphere brightens up!

Lovely fish menu which didn't disappoint. Very good service. Nice ding room with wood panelled walls. Great Soave.

We have walked past this restaurant many times and have tried to get in but it's always fully booked. Eventually on our 8th trip to Venice, we got it and we were not disappointed! What an amazing meal - not cheap but so classy and so worth it! We would definitely recommend.

Among good restaurants in Venice, Lineadombra and Da Franz are reputable restaurants, but personally I like Da Raffaele the best, especially in terms of the food itself. The restaurant has nice terrace tables along the canal but those tables are very popular and advance booking is mandatory. I like the atmosphere which is very Venetian but love foods here even... Second time Ive had the pleasure of this place. Took my sons on last night of stay. Service and food was brilliant. May be a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Will return on my next visit.

Our first meal in Venice and how special. Like a scene from a movie the location was stunning and service great. Lovely food but a little pricey but worth it for the experience.

The restaurant is owned by the same people who own Pensione Accademia so we got a 10% discount on dinner. Food and service were both Fantastic! It was one of the best meals we'd had. For appetizers, we had prosciutto & melon and fried Calamari. the Calamari had a tempura type crust and was excellent - just a really large... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
