Want to start with they have slow service, not super friendly and sit down service charge of €3.50 per person even if you just set down for a glass of wine! Otherwise food is great, and we would go again even knowing all other things...More

Very good food in a quiet canal outside the tourist centers. Service is friendly and professional. The atmosphere is relaxed and there is no dress code, just casual. Don't miss it

Stumbled across this restaurant by chance by following a chalk written billboard sign down a quaint alley revealing this little restaurant. Great that it is off the "rat run" but maybe does not get the clientele it deserves. Great food and great service, inside or...More

The Al Cantinon is pretty far from the main tourist area, which is actually nice. It was a quiet neighborhood, and when we arrived for our 8pm reservation we were only the second group in the restaurant. It didn't get much busier afterwards, so there...More

Found this restaurant based on TA reviews and it was about 10 minutes walk from our hotel. They open at 7pm which was fine for us but we arrived at 7 since we were hungry and there was no wait for a table on a...More

The place is so nice, next to the water, outside the touristic area. Waiters were very friendly; the restaurant looks great, nice atmosphere. The food was so delicious, we took a bottle of venetian wine, was great for the price. Tiramisu was pretty great as...More

Great service and great food! This place is away from all the tourist attractions and where you can find locals eating! I had the tagliatelle with duck ragu and it was the best meal I've eaten in Italy! The appetizers are great and highly recommend...More

Stayed in Venice a couple of nights and ended up having 2 meals here. It was simply amazing: tasty and fresh food with a good selection of wine. Black spaghetti are delicious. Staff also friendly. Definitely recommended.

This restaurant was definitely a walk from the main areas but worth it. The food was delicious and the atmosphere charming. The fish was a wonderful change from all the pasta throughout of Italy tour. They accommodated our 6 year old with the sauce of...More

The trick to eating great meals at tourist destinations is to hit the side streets and head off the beaten path. Cantinon is such a place. Difficult to find and tucked along a narrow path is where you will find this gem. We started with...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

Turn left when you're just out of the train station. Take the main road (lista di spagna - strada nova) and keep going for around 12 minutes. Turn right just before the third bridge you encounter. That's campo della maddalena
