Stopped in on a rainy day for lunch. There is an extensive menu, featuring a long list of pizzas. We tried two different pizzas and were very pleased with the quality and super thin crust. A range of other dishes is available including some very nice seafood specialties. Staff are friendly, the interior is very clean and comfortable and the... More

Having enjoyed an average meal with my dear friend over a glass of red my friend and I asked for the bill. We tried to split it, but apparently this was not an option so I offered to pay the full sum of €47.50 (poor value). When entering my card into the machine and typing my pin I noticed the... More

The pizza is way too cheesy and the tomato sauce tastes as if it was squirted straight from a tube of tomato purée, the service was ok, but nothing to shout about.

My wife and I went exploring the quieter parts of venice and ended up being hungry at lunchtime on Campo santa Margherita. A smiling waiter and good looking menu beckoned us in. We sat outside, under their awning to keep the August veneto sun off us. The funny and smart waiter took our order for a litre flagon of local... More

The location is great and our server was really friendly and funny. The food was good too but compared to the other places we late the last few days it was a little on the expensive side. Nevertheless I would come back again. :-)

My husband and I stopped off for an ice cream and a drink after the opera and received quite unbelievably rude service. The waiter abruptly started clearing the table saying the restaurant was closing and we felt the need to leave having not quite finished our drinks. I left my ice cream cone wrapped up on the table as there... More

The restaurant is located in a good place of the city, good vibe around. Everything is nice but the restaurant. Food’s quality was so poor, served in a picnic cutlery and outrageous increased prices for that quality, at least for the pasta and the salads. Try to avoid it.

We were looking for somewhere to have dinner (not too far from Pie Roma) area. There are lots of places in the area. We found this place where you can sit out in a square, (no canal view) but this was fine for us. Prices are average for around this area, (i.e. no cheap) I had the margarita pizza, which... More

Worst meal of our three week Italy trip by a mile...you'd think they were taking this whole Brexit thing personally. Stale bread, no oil or vinegar, unfriendly service, poor beer, and two weak pasta dishes...how can you get things so badly wrong? Oh, and it was almost 50 euros for that rubbish...

It was my first pizza after arriving to Venice and have to admit a great taste of Italy in each slice i had. Would recommend as its location is just off of the main street and the pricing was really reasonable. Will have to stop there in the future visits!

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
