Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had dinner at this Trattoria on a Sunday evening, and the place was full so it was good to have made reservations. The inside diners were mostly speaking Venetian dialect, which I thought was very encouraging. The outdoor patrons, braving a cool evening to get the magnificent view across the Giudecca canal, were mostly visitors. (While I speak standard... More

A short water bus ride from San Marco is this brilliant little Trattoria. We were staying locally and discovered it by accident. The food is sublime. Gnochhi are soft pillows of flavour, the ragout is delicious, my son raved over his Venician style squid in black ink. Caring friendly service, nothing is too much trouble and no rush to leave... Seppia and risotto were sensational. Relatively short selection of good quality dishes for all tastes with fantastic views of the Canale Della Giudecca. Excellent service by a waiter born in Cuba with a good command of languages. Tiramisu among the best ones we had in our tour through Italy.

We arrived without "a booking" and declined the offer of a small table almost inside the kitchen (and door to the WC), opting for an outside table in the cool April evening alongside the canal. We were celebrating a fine four-day visit in Venice, and we were determined to enjoy Trattoria ai Cacciatori fully. We chose the Wild Boar and... More

Brilliant friendly service and laid back atmosphere. Waiter was very helpful and knowledgable which made our experience a even better. The food was absolutely amazing and not pricey either. Great food with a great view overlooking Venice.

We arrived in Venice earlier that day, staying nearby and came upon ai Cacciatori after walking around. We knew to eat dinner later in Italy but our jet lag had kicked in and we needed an early dinner. The doors were open so we went in. After seating us by the window, we found out they weren't even open for... More

My wife and daughters went to Venice for a few days, and eat at Claudio´s restaurant all the time. The food and the attention was extraordinary and Claudio prepared special meals for them. Thanks, I will be there soon again.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough. We went here on our first night in Venice and it was one of our favourite restaurants. The food is incredible and the service is fantastic. I have a dairy allergy and they were so helpful and careful to ensure my meal was 100% dairy free. Definitely visit this restaurant if you are visiting... More

This was my favorite restaurant in Venice, and that's saying a lot. You do need to take the Vaporetta to the Palanca stop, then walk to the left (not far, just a block or so). If at all possible, try to sit outside. The view across the water is incredible! This place is great if you like seafood. Service was... More

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
