We chose this place based on the very high rating on tripadvisor. We walked past several other places just to eat here. The seating is very, very limited inside and there was no outside seating at all. The waitress was friendly but got our order...More

I can not recommend Cafe Filermo Highly enough. Limited to meat , cheese and wine but the very best of everything . Without doubt the best host you will experience in Venice, very generous with extras and such a lovely atmosphere . We had a...More

We visited this small wine bar on Saturday evening and we really enjoyed it. We drank good wine and had a small platter to nibble while drinking. The owner of the wine bar is superb, and his hospitality topped our brief visit!

We loved this place, it does what it says on the tin. Delicious locally sourced salami - warmed and served with cheese and the most delicious bread. The wine was also full flavoured, juicy and just so drinkable. The guy who owns the place is...More

Do not understand what are all the praises for - there are far better places in Venice. Maybe good for tourists, but there were no locals at time of our arrival. Lack of choise of food and beverages, expensive, wine very average, the owner a...More

Rafael runs this cozy, unpretentious bar and is very friendly and helpful...gives you a feeling of being welcome in a new place. Highly recommended to stop by and share a drink and chat about wine, Venice stuff, and more.

Randomly walked in here fo a drink. It’s a really tiny spot but very cozy and welcoming. The owner is very nice and made it an amazing experience. He’s a great host to his customers. He even has USB outlets at the tables so you...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
