We ate here twice whilst on holiday in Venice, once at lunchtime and once in the evening. It's a popular place and it's easy to understand why so I would suggest arriving early or booking in advance as we saw lots of disappointed people turned...More

We came for dinner and had two types of fish- salmon and bass. Both were simple and dry, and very small. The potatoes were even worse. We actually stayed hungry because we didn't want to order another bad dish. The wine was disgusting. The prices...More

We ate 2 times in ai barbacani during our short stay in venice. Everything was fresh and very tasteful. Very friendly staff. You are being welcomed as a dear guest. Nice prosecco from the house as well as a limoncello. We will com back.

Needless to say that this restaurant is in a small side street, just besides the bridge over the canal - of course it is. But it is also very close to the Campo Santa Maria Formosa. And it serves, I believe, some of the best...More

one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime
neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side
streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals
