The best meal, which we had in Bari. We are six friends tasting six different pizzas, all were amazing and delicious. Do not miss the joy of trying the pizza and having really friendly and welcome stuff.

First time, I've come by the opening, was sent away for 15 minutes, came back in 15 minutes, was sent for 10 more minutes, oh no, you'll be waiting now. Second time, I've come an hour after opening, that was "successful." Ordered my dream pizza,...black on sepia ink. Most expensive in their pizza menu. See the pic. Well, you must be thinking it's black from ink? That too, but mainly it's black because they burnt it! Half of it eventually went to their trash basket. Thanks a lot for the dream meal. By the way, they'll bring you a liter bottle of water, there is no way to order less.More
Best gluten free pizza in Bari. Small and cozy pizzeria. Great choice of pizza, starters and local food. Very nice staff and cheap bill! I suggest to try their starters (antipasti) made with delicious local food and Gratin pizza with zucchini or eggplant, fantastic also...in gluten free version. Vegetarian and vegan options available. Very good!More
The place is very popular so make a reservation or be in there as early as possible (around opening time). The antipasti (appetizers) are really delicious but keep in mind that the pizza is really good so go easy on the appetizers :) The "forno...a legna" makes a big difference on the taste but also the dough and the pizza master, all together creates a heavenly pizza. I travelled many countries and after eating pizza here, I understand that what I ate before as pizza was just a garbage. If you are visiting Bari, this is one of the places you need to dine.More

Very small but nice and warm restaurant. La Tana is located near the centre of Bari, at the end of Via Amendola. It is possible, sometimes, that customers may have to wait outside for few minutes for a table to be free, but the quality...of the food makes the waiting worth. As you enter you can find a worm feeling thanks to the brick oven near the door and the owner who always greets you with very friendly and welcoming manners. The space to seat is quite restricted as there are many tables in a small space, but it is not a big problem. The food you can eat at "La Tana" restaurant is of very high quality, from the starters to the last of your dishes, including cakes or anything you may want to order. When the owner comes to the table and asks for the orders, he is very polite and detailed when describing the content of the starters or of each dish they offer. He gives advices on what to eat based on the customer's requests and, from my experience, I've noticed that he really cares about the experience the customers are going to have, suggesting dishes that won't make the customers feel too full, which in most cases are cheaper as well. My favourite pizza here is certainly Pizza al Pistacchio. It's quite heavy to eat, so I would advise to share it between 2 persons the first time. A couple of friends introduced me to this restaurant about a year ago and since then, every time I go to Bari I want to eat in this restaurant because of the quality of the food, the good customer service and the great Pizza al Pistacchio.More
I realize that I should have written this review at least ten years ago when I first started going to this intimate, fifteen tables restaurant with my wife-to-be, but anyway: Being so lucky as to live the greater part of the year within walking distance...of two of the best pizzerias in Bari, i.e. La Tana and Da Donato, we have frequently visited both, as well as used their takeaway service several times. Now, Da Donato is admittedly a little better at making traditional pizzas like the Margherita, but nevertheless La Tana is our choice four out of five times. There are mainly four reasons for this. The first is the passion and pride with which these guys prepare each single pizza, it is visible in the expression in their faces, in every inch of their bodies and every second of their movements. It might look easy, but it is the result of endless experience accumulated by the same people over many years. Reason number two is intimately connected to the first: The creativity of their recipes. This is also connected to the very experience of eating there. Let me explain. When a group sits down at the table to have a pizza, each guest normally chooses his or her preferred kind of pizza. In this restaurant, however, another option is often chosen: Each pizza is different, one arrives after another, and each one is divided into the number of guests present. In this way, everyone can have as many different slices as the are persons present. When doing this, the choice of ingredients can be left to the pizzaiolo, who is invited to create new combinations. Some of these combinations have been so successful that they have been added to the menu, which is divided into traditional and special pizzas. Anyway, this renders the experience of eating a pizza out much less predictable, and everyone can discuss each different taste. The third reason is the quality of their hot and cold antipasti. Starters are a big thing in the Puglia region, and the ones at La Tana have one of the best price/quality ratios around. Finally, La Tana has a more buzzling and informal atmosphere, all the tables being packed together in a single room, and not divided in compartments, as is the norm elsewhere. So you won't choose this place for a super private conversation. A final critical note: The home delivery is often rather slow, so it's better to go there and pick up the pizzas yourself. A piece of advice: The restaurant normally fills up by 9 PM, maybe a bit earlier on Saturdays, so unless you want to wait for a table, it is better to show up at eight, at least no later than eight thirty.More
