We showed up here without a reservation but there was a table in the front alley, but what European restaurant doesn't spill into the street? The food particularly the fish soup was fabulous and my wife's pasta was equally good. Service was average, and the food was inexpensive and I think a great bargain. I would eat there again. Consider... More

This was the restaurant my wife and her parents kept returning to. Simply, well-cooked food at a fair price. No wonder then, that it was booked up almost every evening we were there. Perhaps it was because of Easter as well, but reservations are a must! My father-in-law who has been staying in Syracuse for two months now said that... More

As we explored Ortygia, we were lucky enough to bump into the Tavernetta di Piero. You can't miss it on Via Cavour, a lively street in the historic center of Ortigia. We entered and were greeted by the family that is the staff of the unassuming little place (Tavernetta is a diminutive noun). The first thing to comment about this... More

We recently ate at this restaurant and had a great meal. The menu is nearly all fish. My wife doesn't eat fish which was a bit of a challenge for her but for me the food was great.

If you love fish and pasta this is a great place, with friendly helpful staff. For vegetarians, the options are more limited.

It’s better to book a table because usually it’s overcrowded. Grilled calamari and seafood past were very good. There is a salad bar choice if you want some appetizers to try. Service is fast and polite, the atmosphere is pleasant. The place is open every day, no holidays like in most other restaurants in Syracuse. There are two Tavernetta restaurants... More

The place is nice and cozy. The price of dishes is about 10-12 for first courses and 12-14 for second courses. We had very good food and the portions are reasonably big. We asked for suggestions to the waiter and he was friendly and helpful. I don't think one can find much better food at that price in that area.... More
