This is a real gem of a tiny restaurant on the south side of the Arno. Quaint and friendly. So if you are visiting Santo Spirito or Santa Maria del Carmine, this is the place to go for a meal. We had a lunch of...More

This is the most wonderful Italian restaurant! We started with a bean, celery and shrimp dish along with a spicy pasta. My husband loved it and normally never eats celery :). Main courses of famous Tuscan beef Peposa and pork with a wonderful balsamic sauce....More

During my one week Holiday, I visited this twice. The food was exquisite, and frequented by locals. I am not lying when I say that I said "mmmhhh" to every mouthful: we ordered different plates, all of them incredible. We had the tripas a la...More

This was one of our favorite spots to eat during our summer in Florence. I would highly recommend having lunch or dinner at this wonderful little spot. The owners are so kind and the food is always consistently amazing. The pasta soaked in Chianti is...More

I cannot recommend this tiny restaurant highly enough. The small menu offers great seasonal Tuscan cuisine and the challenge is not to over-order! The staff are always friendly. Service is efficient without being rushed. Prices are very reasonable.

My trip adviser apartment rental host recommended Al Tranvai. When another nearby restaurant was full, I reserved a table at this cute little restaurant that looks a little like the inside of a tram. I LOVED the gnocci with wild boar ragu (like eating pillows)...More

The warmest welcome, and brownie points for using any Italian you can muster. Tiny, quirky place set up to resemble a tram (almost as small and narrow: seats only 24) Food is seasonal, local and thoughtful. Loved the polenta with the transparent slice of lard,...More

A very small neighborhood place serving up very good traditional cuisine. This place seems always full so best to have a booking. We myself, wife and 17 year old daughter) were treated in a very friendly way and enjoyed an excellent lunch. Not a cheap...More

It was very full (6th Jan, Epiphany, we needed to book) and we were tucked in the back room between the entrance and the kitchen. However, food was great! Good size portions, good value (especially the wine), and a fantastic atmosphere. We will definitely return!

Great traditional food revisited, very tasty and rich. My favourite shrimps and beans salad, very rich starter. Then don't miss traditional Lampredotto or stir fried kidneys, sound awful but it's delicious. A lot of stuff can be made gluten free, so what more? Enjoy
