Good to have a chance to grab their food as "breakfast" before leaving Florence. Since we were in a rush, I just ordered two things for to go: boiled beef sandwiches and boiled beef intestine (I guess). They were both very tasty. It would be much better if they could have toasted the bread before it's served. The boiled beef... More

We ate at Nerbone a couple of times before on our previous Florence visits, but got sandwiches before. Those are great, but the dishes we got this time were way better. Had a couple of plates of their vegetable soup (zuppa de verdura), a porchetta plate, and a tripe (stomach) plate. Outstanding flavors and textures in all. The soup though... More

This bldg and concept reminded me sort of like Fanueill Hall in Boston, except in Italy with more character. Went here based on recommendations from trip advisor and it was spot on...even chose the pork sandwich with green? sauce from looking at the pics. The pork was tender and juicy and the sandwich was to die for. I still think... More

Loved this place. The lampredotto is delicious here! Service is fast...they only do a few things but do them very well. Staff were helpful and it is a must stop in Florence. I highly recommend a visit here! You won't find this quality anywhere in town for these prices

You have to try the lampredotto, either in a panino or by the plateful! Great market institution which serves the workers as well tourists. Squish up at the communal tables opposite and tuck in!

Saturday lunch for five of us - unforgettable experience! Arrived by 1 pm, did a little bit of a queue, found some space around one of the marble tables set in front of the kiosk (the latter is a bit of a tricky deal). Paid €33 for 1 lt of red house wine, 2 ribollita (typical tuscan veggie dish), one... More

This local place in the Mercato Centrale never disappoints. Food is traditional and very good. Ambient is also particular being in a central market. Overall a good experience. Recommend if staying in Florence.

Wandering around central market before midday, and only a few hours after a decent sized breakfast, the smells emanating from Nerbone - a tiny diner on the ground floor of the market that is otherwise mostly given over the produce sellers - made me feel so hungry that I had to stop and have a (very) early lunch. NB it... More
