My family and I found this Florence restaurant by chance walking down the alley and looking for somewhere to eat lunch. We were glad that we did! There was a line outside of the restaurant where customers were holding pink tickets and were waiting for their orders to be completed.
Walking into the restaurant, there were bar stools lined against the wall along with bottles of wine on shelves overhead. The restaurant also offered a variety of drinks from sodas, water and beer. People were heading upstairs for additional seating.
My wife, daughter and I ordered #2 - Lussuriosa (Tuscan Prosciutto (Raw Ham), Balsamic Vinegar Glaze, Walnuts and Red Salad), #4 - Invidiosa (Sbriciolona (Traditional Fresh Salami with Fennel), Gorgonzola Cheese Cream, Zucchini and Arugola (Rocket Salad)) and #5 - Violenta (Spicy Salami, Eggplant (Aubergine), Spicy Oil and Salad). It took about 35 minutes to get our sandwiches (which are reasonably priced) due to everything being freshly prepared from slicing the meats to putting the fresh ingredients together. The huge sandwiches were worth the wait! The toasted bread had a crunch to it and the flavors of the ingredients were outstanding!
We were so impressed with our sandwiches that we dropped by the restaurant the next day for lunch to have the same three sandwiches again!
I' Girone De' Ghiotti is highly recommended ... 5 Stars!!!

Small stop around the corner you must go....delicious, various fresh sandwiches, inexpensive is the second little word. We had a Abnb close and well, we went several times with every time very friendly welcome and smiles through the masks :-). Very serious, whaouh, next time we come, this is for sure one of the must-go-stop. Can go there closed eyes and largely opened mouth.

Everything were so fresh, and tasty. We could choose either from a menu or we could create our own sandwich that was so helpful.
Friendly staff and very good prices, since the city is pretty expensive in general.
If we come back to Firenze we will visit them again!

I had heard of this amazing place from a colleague of mine, but I didn't think it was my kind of lunch.....soooooo wrong! The quality of the cold-cuts and the freshness of their focaccias is their strongest point,but also the cool guys that serve! A great place for good food at reasonable prices. Check it out!

Nice welcoming, the two guys in there were so friendly, talking Italian, French, English everything was perfect from the beers we drank there to the bottle of wine and the sandwiches we took away for dinner. They gave us good tips about the wine we had to take for dinner and we’re drinking it at the moment, it fits perfectly what we got. Thanks again guys, we’ll be back to you when we’re back to Florence 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 love from Switzerland

These are the best sandwiches in Florence, they are possibly the best sandwiches in the whole of Italy but definitely in Florence. We did a test on a couple of the famous sandwich shops and these were the best by fae. The bread is delicious, crunchy and doesn't take over the sandwich. The porchetta and truffle are fantastic. The menu has a lot of great options, and you can also design your own. A must stop for any visit to Florence.
€5 for a sandwich is a great price as they will fill you up for some dight seeing.

Service is very friendly and welcoming. Very good selection of freshly made ciabatta at a very good price (especially given the prime location next to the uffizi museum). For an affordable quick lunch I would recommend to go here! We would have come back if we was in Florence for longer and I will certainly return in the future if I am visiting again.

We arrived fairly early (noon-ish) on a Sunday and waited for 30 to order, and 90 minutes to collect the food. They have a lot of big orders that makes waiting tickets very misleading. Do not go here if you're not ready/able to wait.
In terms of food, we ordered two different varieties, one was great, the other was poor.
All in all, not a recommended experience given the wait time.

Visited several times over our trip to Florence, good welcome and a handy seating area upstairs to give you a chance to recover from long morning walks. Great selection of really tasty sandwiches packed with filling with excellent crisp,warm bread. Good choice of wines and beers all served by really friendly and attentive staff. Good value considering it is situated very close to the main attractions

You cannot move for people with these sandwiches in Florence. No matter where you go someone will be munching on one. I didn't get the hype... Until I did a little research and visited this place!
When we first visited there was a queue, however this was nothing like the queues we had previously seen so we waited patiently. So glad we did as this changed our lunch option every day for the rest of the trip. Legit the best sandwich you will eat. I had the suicida (pictured) and it was delicious down to the last bite. The next day I demanded that we went and get more. I couldn't get enough and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Don't let the queues put you off it's really worth the wait and only 5 euros!

Just wandered down the street, saw people eating delicious charcuterie plates and had to have one. They created this beautiful platter of food, explained what we were eating, helped us pick the perfect wine, and it was an amazing introduction to Florence. Also gave us biscotti and vin santo at the end. Please stop in. They are kind and sweet and their food is amazing!

ITA: In questi giorni io e mia sorella stiamo facendo una toccata e fuga a Firenze. Ieri a pranzo ci siamo imbattute in questo bellissimo locale per gustare due schiacciate. La qualità della materia prima è ottima e le schiacciate (la bianca per me e una "personalizzata" per mia sorella) erano FAVOLOSE. Il personale è gentilissimo, e a fine pranzo ci sono stati offerti dei cantucci al cioccolato buoni buoni. Risultato? Siamo tornate a prenderne 3 pacchi da portare a parenti e amici!!! XD
Il rapporto qualitĂ prezzo giustissimo.
Se passate da Firenze, PROVATELO!!!
ENG: My sister and I are spending few days in Florence and we wanted to try schiacciata. We found this tiny but beautiful place and we gave it a go. The quality of the ingredients is superb and the final products (a "bianca" schiacciata for me and a customized one for my sis) was amazingly good. The staff was very friendly and offered us some cocoa cantucci...they were so good that we ended up buying 3 packages to bring back home to our family and friends.
Please, when in Florence do yourself a favour and try out this place!

The paninis we chose were absolutely great! So tasty, full of flavour and big enough to even replace lunch. The staff was really very friendly - they helped us in our choice, recommended the local beer (which was great, too!), explained some ingredients... They have a really big selection of paninis so anyone can find the right one for himself. We also tried the desert after the recommendation of the staff and it was a good choice as well. It is worth to go to that part of Firenze just for this place :)

My husband and I went to Florence for our honeymoon. If you're lucky enough to read this review, this sandwich is life changing! Our first sandwich stop was at the famous All'antico Vennaio and it was quite disappointing considering all the hype and lines. The bread was too thick and extremely dry. We passed by I Girone De Ghiotti one day and decided to give it a try--OH MY GOD! Hands down one of my favorite things I've ever eaten! The bread was PERFECTION. The flavors were PERFECTION. I wish we would have only tried this place.

Amazing fresh food and even better service! Very affordable prices and huge sandwiches even considering the central location. Best sandwiches in Florence by far. Have eaten here a few times, if you're in a rush its ideal to get something quickly and go or they have seating upstairs where it's perfect to get a board and share a bottle of wine. A go to lunch spot in Florence
