Genuine no nonsense Tuscan cuisine. This is one of our regular haunts for a family lunch or dinner. This is a typical neighborhood restaurant that caters to locals. This place has a bustling take out par rod the business and a restaurant with a limited...but well rounded menu with pizza in the evening. If you want value for money and genuine down to earth Italian cuisines this is where you should eat. Their fish dishes are amazing. Their spaghetti carrettiera is the best one in town. We have had their Florentine steak and it was good if not over the top fabulous. They have homemade desserts made daily and their tiramisu is to die for. On top of that they have a nice wine selection, friendly if casual service and prices are the best value for money in the neighborhood. So close to Santa Croce and Sant’Ambrogio you can’t get a better deal.More
Good tasty food, nice atmosphere, Staff is very nice and helpful. Bent over backwards to make sure our experience was good.
I have been eating here for 15+ years. It is typical normal well done good, and well priced no nonsense place. If you want to eat well homestyle, this is the place.
An unpretentious eatery, away from the tourist hordes, made for an enjoyable evening. Our food consisted of affettati misti, pasta, and a fish/shellfish dish, white wine. All very good, service VG, prices VG too.
We found this great place when walking around the neighbourhood where we were staying the first night. The food and service was great. We returned again on our last night in Florence and were not disappointed.
We loved this place for family meals at the end of adventurous travel days. It was a great respite from the adventure and sometimes crowd-filled travel days, with kind service, quiet table and delicious food. We were the only tourists in the place. Loved it.
We loved the experience and the meal. The service was friendly and we enjoyed a lovely meal with wine. Simple fare, we enjoyed a seafood pasta and muscles with a lime and mint base. The chips were really good, like home and the salad was...tasty. We enjoyed seeing the locals in their local restaurant, who were mainly enjoying the pizza.More
We felt like. White in the early evening having* had late breakfast. This was great value, very good Tuscan food and very sensibly priced.
We thoroughly enjoyed this small, simple restaurant just down the road from our apartment and ate there twice. The menu featured a number of local specialities and it was a great opportunity to try these. Many of the customers seemed to be locals. We had...friendly, helpful service. We ate various pasta dishes including the cingiale, and the fritto misto with various small fish and shrimps was a novel experience. Very good value including the house wine.More
We found the best restaurant to eat at, FINALLY! Unfortunately, it was on our last night in Florence. All week long we kept saying to each other that we didn’t think we had had our best meal yet in Florence. We did tonight! Very CLEAN...restaurant with a true family owned feel. We ordered 3 entrees (four cheese penne, ravioli with tomato cream sauce with ham & mushrooms and the garlic chili oil pasta (spicy) ~ all were delicious! We ordered fried vegetables & polenta as our sides and enjoyed them as well. The service was friendly & prompt. You can also order meals to go. We wish we had found this on our first night in Florence, we certainly would have eaten there more than once. This is where the locals eat too.More
The food there was good it just wasn’t anything special that would stick in your mind afterwards. Just normal Italian food.
Solo traveller. They very clearly appreciate an effort to speak Italian and communicate with them because the vast majority of their clientele are Italian. Server was brusque in the typical Florentine way. He could have used with a glass of wine to calm down a...little ;) There was no house white wine, only sparkling (on tap and not bad) and a red which wasn't great - but it was cheap. I somehow ended up with half a liter of red instead of the quarter I asked for - I probably agreed to it when I was asked but my Italian wasn't quite keeping up with the wine 😂 Had crostini Toscana (fegatini), nicely done although the bread a bit under toasted; and gnocchi with fresh arugula and gorgonzola, which was excellent. The total bill for the two courses, coperto, 750ml of house wine, and 1l of water was 21.50. I would recommend it simply based on the price, and the quality of the food and the authentic atmosphere add to the value. Just docked the one star for the few minor points to work on. I shall return...probably tonight.More
Proper local pizzeria, just off the central tourist area, packed full of Italians so you know the pizza is damn good. Simple, tasty, classic. Easy on the pocket. The real deal. Enjoy!
They offer first , second dishes by themselves, or a combination for a very reasonable price , I had the pork (arista ) with roasted onions that was very good . It is mainly a place that locals use , some italian would come in...handy.More
