After doing my sight seeing & shopping near the duomo area, I was recommended by the retail executive at Hermes to try out this restaurant for lunch. It sits right next to MaxMara and makes for a good spot to dine at post shopping. Nice ambience and I enjoyed the pasta & pizza I ordered. Pizzas are fairly huge so... More

a place downtown I've always recommended and visited in several occasions however after last Saturday I doubt I'll ever go back as the service was slow, the food has decreased in quality and the price was too high for the overall dinner, very disappointing that yet another restaurant has succumbed to the tourist law where the quality does not increase... Just brilliant! The mozzarella was gorgeous, but then you'd expect it to be good in a mozzarella bar! It's bright and modern but serving classics. Pizza was lovely and thin and well cooked. Definitely highly recommend for those who want a great meal and a break from the stereotypical trattorias of Florence.

A varied, traditional Italian menu elevated with trendy ingredients in contemporary setting. Service a bit slow but overall enjoyable.

I saw the terrace area last year and tried to get in on a Sunday only to be told it was buffet on a Sunday. So I tried this year for a Saturday at lunch, but then I read the reviews and canceled my reservations based upon everyone's comments on service/lack of service/attitude. There are too many really delightful places... More

This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend so me and my boyfriend tried it out on out last night in Florence. It's settled in the area of Florence with all the luxury/designer shops and somewhat hidden from the main shops. We arrived around 7.30 without a reservation and it was very quiet. However, by 8.15 it was full.I... More

Beautiful location in an old renovated palazzo right in the center. The food was delicious, creamy raviolis and pesto, artichokes croquetas, mozzarella and prosciutto. Good selection of wines. We also had tea there and very good selection of organic tea, a good surprise ! Friendly service and reasonable price. Would recommend !

Very nice atmosphere, tasty dishes. We had a plate of salumis, lasagna and a pasta. All of them were good. The staff were very nice and helpful.

This is a fantastic place to go for lunch during the day. It is on the wealthier side of Florence, but I think it was pretty affordable. The staff was very polite and spoke English if needed.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
