My wife and I stumbled upon that place one evening and we were extremely disappointed. Food is warmed up in the microwave and the mushrooms (must have been canned) of my fettuccine tasted overcooked and slimy, eventually making me gag. Despite friendly and good service this was possibly the worst meal i ever paid for.

A cool autumn day in Florence, and my thoughts turned to something warm and comforting for lunch. The menu outside Pangie's Bistrot was full of such things, so in I went for a lunch of Cinghale in Umido (wild boar stew), potatoes and vegetables, and a big glass of Chianti Classico. Perfect! Cozy interior, friendly people, lots of locals (always... More

Stopped in on a Friday night after visiting the Museo di Palazzo Vecchio. Very pleasant, cozy atmosphere. I lordered the Ravoli which was very good and my family ordered the lasagna which I sampled. The lasagna was delicious. We were served promptly and at first Pangie's was empty but before we left other customers were there as well. We did not... More

If your Tuscan grandmother was a great cook and decided to open a small six table restaurant, this would be the place. Francesca and Giotti we're cooking and serving the six tables to perfection. We had a liver pate bruschetta, a half liter of house wine, two pasta dishes, and panna cotta for dessert. The entire bill was less than... More

Attracted by the look of the place from the outside we booked to eat later. Good choice! Typically Italian menu, all looking good. We were given an excellent insight into the wines available, the concentration being on those from Tuscany, so don't ask for Nero d'Avola! Very popular with a youngish local clientele and no worse for that. It's small,... More

I've just had Sunday lunch at this place which I ran into by mere chance. It's a father and daughter operation with genuine Tuscan food. The quality is superb and the prices honest. The room is small and the selection limited but exquisite.

Quaint and tidy restaurant whose owner makes the Salumi and all the dishes in house. This is the kind of place Anthony Bourdain would find and rave about. I've eaten all over in Italy and this is some of the best local food I've come across. Like other reviewer's the antipasti, the bruschetta, and the wild boar Ragu were fabulous.... More

We passed this place a few time on the way to and from our hotel. On the last evening we decided to stop in for dinner and we were sorry we had not eaten here before. We had chicken liver pate to share and then we both had the wild boar ragu with a side of spinach. Absolutely delicious, and... More

The dishes are very good, the staff welcomes you and understands you just fine (without speaking english, which is incredible), and the place is really comfy (full of jokes and infos in english). The products you will find are affordable and delicious (between 7 and 11euros). Highly recommended

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
