It is the off-season, so the full menu was not available, but select dishes from the Michelin menu were available. While the food was good, it was not uniformly excellent. The pigeon was a highlight, one main course (lamb we believe) was just so-so, one main course (line caught sea bass) was amazing.

If you are visiting Florence and want a stunning romantic way to round off your weekend then this fits the bill. It has a great piano bar so go early for a drink, they have great cocktails and atmosphere is good. Restaurant is formal so best to be a little dressed, especially ladies!! Food incredible. Wine list was super and... More

I'll be honest, this could easily be a five star review considering the chef's talents here, but I'm urging myself to hold back for the truly special experiences that are out there. The first thing you'll notice when you arrive is the opulent ambience (feels like you're eating in a palace) and the customer service is some of the best... More

I had dinner here several times for business and for pleasure. The location is beautiful and every time I go back it seems getting better. The food is not tha much, compared to the location and elegant and classic Four Season Hotel. I will definetly go back, but not for the food!

It's a michelin star restaurant and all I expected out of the service was great. Can't say the same for the food. The starter, wine and dessert were all great but the main dish, Pigeon cooked in Pig's bladder which came highly recommended by the restaurant manager was not for my palette. They showed me the cooked pigeon still in... More

Dear Ms Yoong, We appreciate your time in sharing your feedback and are very sorry to read that you did not enjoy our pigeon dish. It is indeed a hundred-year-old traditional local recipe, where the pigeon is cooked in pig's bladder to preserve all the savours. We understand you may not be used to this presentation and feel sorry that... More

I live in Tuscany and regularly take out-of-town guests to the Four Seasons Hotel for cocktails, as the hotel is located in a former Renaissance palace, and the ambience is, in my opinion, the best in Florence. Given my past experience, the hotel's 5-star rating and the Palagio Restaurant's Michelin star, my expectations were very high for Christmas lunch 2016.... More

The Four Seasons Sunday Brunch is a must for those who enjoy an array of flavors, traditional or contemporary and can eat. It is not for the dieter. The FS brunch is an all day affair. A dining experience to be followed up with a walk through the beautiful park and a rest in the salon. To begin your experience:... More

We wanted a really fine dining experience, but found this restaurant to be overly stuffy and serving very small portions and almost no Italian dishes on the menu... we paid over $500 for our meal including a $10 per person service fee just to enter the door and get a table. Although the ambiance was amazing, the food was maybe... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
