So glad I did not read the other reviews before I stopped here! We came for dinner after a day trip to Florence and were extremely pleasantly surprised. We chose it because we had no WiFi, were hungry enough to not want to keep walking around reading menus, and were enchanted by the name. I had the "Menu Tipica" fixed... More

Dante e Beatrice is just a stone's throw from the Duomo but feels a very welcome thousand miles away from the hustle/bustle/craziness. The majority of patrons were Italian...good sign. They cheerfully accommodated our mixed party of nine children and adults. Both food and alcohol portions were ample. Nice evening out.

As a solo traveller this looked a nice place to eat. I was greeted by a welcoming gentleman who was friendly and efficient. I ordered lasagne ( this will be good in Italy, I thought ). It arrived quickly, perhaps too quickly as I discovered that the centre was barely luke warm. Each mouthful, I wondered if it will be... More

We found this restaurant a real gem. So much so we went back. On our 1st visit I had delicious sole - expertly filleted at the table. My husband had lemon chicken - also delicious. Tiramisu (I am not a dessert person but found myself with a spoon!). With wine, water & coffee 65 euros. Very good value and very... More

We spotted this restaurant and decided to visit the next evening. We both had the fixed menu, 3 courses for 16 euros. The food was rather ordinary and the service poor, second course brought out before my husband had finished his first! Would not bother to make a return visit.

Just off the tourist track - good service, good food, nice atmophere. The pasta was as fresh as can be, and served with clams it was yummy.

Having arrived in Florence late evening we stopped here for supper. Late Sunday it was very quiet. Staff were friendly, met with an aperitif, no rush to order. Portions were large and tasty. Even though we were the last to leave we were not hurried to pay up and go. Though not cheap it would be what I expect to... More

The food is okay, nothing amazing, but not awful either. I enjoyed my penne, and the dessert was okay, but the atmosphere of the place isn't the best, they're not as friendly as most of the waiters are in most places in Florence. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't return.

We had lunch here - salads, soups, pasta - everything was good. Nice, cozy atmosphere and very close to the Piazza del Duomo. Warm recommendation!

What a godawful excuse for a restaurant. Uncomfortable, ambience like a prison cell, cess pit for a bathroom, indifferent service and prices only starving tourists would pay. We ordered a pizza and ravioli in meat sauce. Should have realised when we saw "meat". What meat? Tasted like tinned mince. Pizza tastes like a microwave pizza. Don't be deceived by the... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
