My partner and I ended up in this bar by pure chance. We were passing by, looked at it, and thought "maybe it's a metal bar"? We went in and decided to stay, after realising that an Iron Maiden track was being played. The barman is super entertaining and friendly, and we loved the craft beers too. We came back... More

I passed by Monkey Bar while walking with my friends and I remembered reading about it in a travel guide, so we ventured in and I am so glad we did. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with free shots and the nicest, coolest bartender ever, Freddie. He was so great with the service and he really... More

In all honesty this is the best bar we went to in our entire Italy trip. A great local bar, the barman kept us entertained, made us cocktails, regaled us with stories and got us thoroughly drunk. Some great metal tracks were also being placed. This is a dive bar with a heart - exactly what London is lacking.

When my friend and I found this bar after a long search it was great. The staf is really fun and they really made us feel welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed and the drinks not to expensive. We had a great time!

The staff and locals made our visit most welcome. It's a bit rough around the edges so won't appeal to the well healed but for mere peasants like us looking for a decent pint and a friendly face it ticked all the boxes.

We found this bar after a long day of people being rude to us in bars/shops/everywhere. It was such a welcome change. Not only were the staff amazing but the locals were friendly too. We ended up staying for a (lot of) drink and doing shots! If your in Florence and fancy a decent drink - this is the best... More

The Monkey Bar is how a dive bar should be like, and me and my girlfriend from London happened to stumble into this gem randomly right before they closed. We called it destiny. We ended up staying as they were closing, but they gave us the full experience, and told us all about the best places in the city to... More

Our friends brought us here while we were visiting Florence. The drinks were the best, the atmosphere was great and the prices were cheap. The best part was the owners and bartenders, Freddie and Leonardo. They were so cool and friendly, they even helped us out when we had a luggage mishap (really long story). SO, this bar and these... I spent a term studying in Florence, and my friends and I stumbled upon Monkey Bar one night. It quickly became our go-to bar. The atmosphere is very laid back and chill, not to mention Freddy and Lorenzo are topnotch bartenders. Freddy is always experimenting with drinks, so if you're feeling adventurous ask him for his latest concoction! There are... More
