Came here on a school trip for dinner (2 teachers and 19 teens). The food was quite expensive but portions were big, so many of the students shared a dish between 2 and had plenty. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was tasty, everyone was satisfied. Recommended for anyone looking for a change from Italian food!

What a nice change from typical Italian. We were allowed in a bit early for lunch to get out of rain. Good start. Quick, attentive waiter got us started with a very attractive and tasty avocado dish stuffed with chicken salad. Our main dishes were the Pescado Fritto (whole fried fish) and the Lomo Saltado (steak stir fry). All together a nice 4 of 5 meal.

Perfect place for an evening with friends, informal and welcoming. Value for money in my opinion apt for the portions of the dishes. Great food: the yucas fritas and tamales melted in the mouth, and the cause was very good. I then took the rice, generous portion and quality products, the meat was very tender and the shrimp as well. As dessert I chose the dulce tres leches: a bomb. All accompanied by 1 liter of chicha morada. Most likely this kitchen has best met my tastes but objectively it is all very greedy. As a first experience with Peruvian cuisine I would say it went very well.

Wanted to change for one day from Italian cuisine and decided for this restaurant - I must mention that Peruvian is my favorite food, bursting with flavors, fresh and very creative. Plus lots of fish and sea food ...therefore I ordered a Pescado à la Macha, dish I had many times and live! What I got at La Vaca Loka however was bland in terms of flavor and seafood stew not well cooked, seafood was hard to chew. So completely different story from reviewers here - has the quality been influenced by Covid crisis? Were they in a rush since it was close to 4 pm and they close Saturdays at that time? Or was it a glitch and then I was unlucky? Not sure but, whatever it was, won’t go back there.

Our first night in Florence staying at the Best Western outside the city centre.
We found the Lavaca Loka it was the only restaurant open near the Hotel.
We had never had Peruvian food staff were friendly. I ordered the Ceviche Mixto my wife the chicken speciality of the house. When the food arrived My Ceviche I can only describe as a mess on a plate everything was stone cold I took one bite. know way could I eat this. We called the waiter I explained I cant eat this but as I ordered this I will still pay for it. I asked him for a plate of chips as I was hungry and didn't want to risk anything else from the menu. My Wife's chicken she said was just okay the chicken was dry and as the speciality of the house should have been much better. I put it down as one of those nights. What really annoyed us that when the bill arrived they had billed us for the chips. Surely as a act of courtesy this at 4 euros could have been on the house.

A few minutes from the airport is this beautiful Peruvian restaurant, it is presented in a very simple way with seats both outside and inside, in itself the menu offers different choices between meat, fish, vegetarian and even some desserts. The prices at first glance may seem a little higher than what one can expect, however the portions are huge and the quality of the product feels (I recommend asking for their hot sauce ) very little waiting after ordering and the staff very friendly and helpful, if I were from the area I would probably go back to eat, recommended. I'm attaching some photos, I hope I've been helpful.

I've known Vaca Loka for years. They come there mainly to eat Peruvians. With our last visit I was shocked how they increased the prices. Until a few months ago I spent a maximum of 25 euros each, now I want 40 euros each for a starter and main course. Half a chicken for 25 euros and a whole chicken for 50 euros..... Exaggerated.... it's not a refined restaurant but a Peruvian bar.

After eating only Italian food for almost two weeks while we were in Italy, I wanted to try something else. Upon googling restaurants near the hotel, I came upon a list that included La Vaca Loka. Upon researching further I read some very positive reviews about the restaurant so I knew I had to try it. My husband and I had dinner on the 29th of November, and ordered bistec ala pobre. We both loved the flavors. The following day, I had lunch at La Vaca Loka and ordered chaufa de mariscos. It was so delicious first due to its authenticity, and secondly, they do not scrimp on ingredients. For those traveling to Florence, La Vaca Loka is a must-go-to restaurant.

A small corner of Peru in Italy, delicious, spicy food, if you are traveling and passing through Florence, be sure to try this food. Forget pasta and pizza for a moment. Eat other flavors, try different things in other countries.

Definitely excellent! Delicious food, first-class service from Tomas, delicious cocktails and excellent atmosphere. Don't hesitate to visit it if you go to Florence, highly recommended, we were a group of 11 people from Ecuador and we were delighted!

In the end I ate well but I don't feel like giving a full score because out of the 3 dishes I had chosen (starter, main course and dessert) none of the 3 were present! I hadn't chosen absurd dishes but dishes present on the menu and typical: on a Saturday evening and in the city of Florence it is not acceptable. Let's say it wasn't a good start nor a good advertisement (it was my first time going). The second-best choices, then, were good but I wanted to try the dishes I had chosen. I want to give it another chance and will return, hoping to be able to eat the dishes I wanted.
Average atmosphere.

We were staying across the street at the Best Western for our early morning flight home. Only place open on a Sunday night within walking distance was this unassuming place. What a score for us! Tasty tasty food, well priced with friendly fast service. Wish we had a place like this back home. Lucky locals!

Fun to find a Peruvian restaurant in Italy. We love Peruvian food, and also, Pisco Sours.
I had a different version of a Pisco sour; it was ok, but not as good as the usual Pisco Sour. The food we had was very good. Was great to be able to speak Spanish with the server since we don't speak Italian. Lots of people coming in for pick up orders so must be a popular place. Definitely worth going.

This is an authentic Peruvian restaurant and the food here is great!! It is run by Peruvians too. We had the Causa Rellena for starter, which was lovely, and Bistec a lo Pobre (huuuuuge portion!) and Lomo Saltado, both of which were really good! So glad I found this place, Peruvian restaurants are rare and this one is excellent!!

Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
