I'd read in a few blogs that this was one of 'the' restaurants in Florence and was surprised to see its 'low rating' of about 600 of all the restaurants on trip advisor. I have to say, the setting is super romantic. Red velvet bucket chairs and artwork strewn across the walls. The staff were proud to work for Cibreo... More

An extensive local menu, rich in unique dishes (pigeon anyone?) and high-fat specialties (pate, sausage, cheeks, meat dishes with poached egg added) served in a most unusual way: no menu, but the maitre d' sits down at your table, personally explains the menu, and takes your order!

What an experience. There is no menu but instead the maitre d brings a small stool to your table, sits and explains what the chef has decided to prepare that evening. Traditional Tuscan food that was interesting, delicious and a real experience. The sommelier was amazing and we could've sat there for hours. Although the restaurant decor was quite relaxed,... We all know Italian food is good, Tuscan food is great but Il Cibreo takes this to another level! Every single bite of every dish we had was mouthwatering and out of this world. From start to finish they make you feel like royalty. There is no menu (be open minded) and a lady sits at your table, tells you... More

Service was simply exceptional, from the welcome to the "arrivederci", the right mix between friendly and very professional. Menu is spoken, not written, I understand that this can feel intimidating, especially for not Italian, however the staff takes all the time you need to decide, to explain each dish and try to guide you through the best choice for your... Without a doubt the worst meal I had in the one month We spent in Florence, and at a cost approaching 200 Euros. The restuarant uses old movie theatre seats at some of it's tables. They are uncomfortable and too low for the tables. I ordered soup, more on that later, and I felt like a child trying to eat... More

We dined here on our first night in Florence and our meal was interesting, to say the least. The menu is fixed price by course and a very nice lady came to the table to describe the choices to us. No written menu! They say you "eat with you eyes" and I would suggest that seeing the selections and the... More

I first discovered this place (the trattoria and caffe) in 2005 when on a weekend visit, having first moved to Rome. Since then, I have brought several people here to eat and though there are marvelous places to eat all over Florence, this is the only place in all of Italy where not one but MULTIPLE people have eaten the... After reading some scathing reviews here I approached with trepidation. The restaurant is warm and friendly. The lack of a printed menu is a little annoying but the oral presentation was charming and friendly. All 12 courses served at my table were excellent. The wine list had many very good wines in the 35-45 Euro range. And the bill for... More
