I was here as part of a business group dinner. The organizers had chosen this place because last year the restaurant did such a good job for the group of 29. We had requested in advance 5 gluten free meals. Unfortunately, the manager failed to mention this to the chef. So five people sat with nothing in front of them... More

I had the best lasagne ever at this nice restaurant. Dinner was delicious. The waiters seems a little bit busy for looking at us when serving dinner. Nevertheless, a great choice for a lovely meal.

We almost fell upon Caffe Italiano. It was just around the corner from where we are staying near Santa Croce. We ate there last night and had a really lovely meal, the service was perfect, the food delicious and the local Chianti was divine. So today we went there for lunch and the service was just perfect, the food delicious.... More

We were hungry and tired, passed through the street and saw Enzo (the chef) in the window, cooking his pizza. He is very charismatic and pizza is really good and tasty. We paid attention that many locals were entering the pizzeria to order take away pizza, so we came to a conclusion that if is is really popular among the... More

We had come here based on a co worker recommendation. Ordered the Chianti Le corte (I wanted a different chianti), tomato soup with bread, steak tartare and margherita pizza. First off, the service is horrible. I asked question, in which the server pointed to the menu insisting that I read what is available. Completely fine. Second, we ordered steak tartare... More

The restaurant has an italian atmosphere which is exactly what we were looking for. Pizza was really tasteful and service was kind.

The food was not exceptional. The sitting in the front part of the restaaurant is very rustical, not what you await at this price. The food is o.K., but not more. The service is a bit sloppy and arrogant and not touristfriendly. People, at my hometown you are tourists and I am local! Remember that!

Fresh ingredients and simplicity makes these pizzas the best in Tuscany... therefore in the world! Very hot oven heated by wood, few ingredients, couples minutes and enjoy! yes simple makes the most complex flavors.

Since 1998 the Osteria del Caffe Italiano as been considerated from local costumers, tourists and food critics, as an exaple of authentic tuscan cuisine. A place where to eat the real "Bistecca Alla Fiorentina", fresh home made pasta and one of the best pizza in town

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
