A very pleasant trattoria with a nice selection of local dishes. Small, clean and intimate with very friendly and attentive staff. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. We enjoyed our meal and wine. The restaurant is well frequented which is always a...More

Our stay in Florence got off to an unpromising start. The rain played havoc with traffic and our 2 o’clock check into our Airbnb accommodation was pushed back to 3.45pm. We asked our hosts to recommend a place for lunch and he pointed us to...More

We found this trattoria by chance. It is located where not many tourists are around, but it was close to where we stayed in Florence. The kitchen is more like home cooking; simple but tasty. The atomosphere was cosy and friendly. As Italiand tend to...More

Off the man tourist area we stumbled upon this local restaurant on a rainy day. It was wonderful. Very authentic. Little English being spoken. Food was incredible, the restaurant owner was adorable and so kind. We had one of the best meals of our trip...More

This little hidden gem in a quieter area of Florence is divine. We stayed on the same street and it was recommended we try here by our airbnb host. As soon as we entered we realised we'd be in for a treat! Run by enthusiastic...More

Perfectly cooked and very tender T/bone steak. Great staff and good wine list. Just pick the time you go because it can get so busy that the staff are a bit run off there feet.

We had lunch and dinner here several times over the weekend. Everyone ate well and we hardly spent a great deal for what we ate. We had spaghetti with clam sauce, wild boar ragout on egg pasta (Pappardelle), mussels with Pepper, swordfish pasta, a roasted...More

We just finished a fantastic meal here. We heard about this place from Gigi at the Strega Nocciola (which is also very much worth a visit). Arturo (the owner) and Antonio (our waiter) were fantastic. They had great suggestions and humored all of our requests....More

We made a same day reservation for dinner for a party of five. We were seated on the terrace and it was the start of a wonderful dining experience. We ordered gnocchi, melon and prosciutto, and warm octopus for aperitivi, followed by seafood pasta, veal,...More

Santo Spirito / San Frediano
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great
company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo
Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour.
Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the
staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and
they cannot help but stare at the architectural
masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello
Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria

We didn't book...just walked in on a Friday night around 8.30 and it wasn't full but did fill up later. We may also have been lucky as it was Feb so not peak tourist season. I think it was around €40 for two with a bottle of... More
