We came here after the Boboli Gardens, and we absolutely LOVED it. The ribollita was AMAZING! My husband's bolognese was delicious! The bruschetta and arugula salad were excellent starters. I highly recommend this authentic, Italian gem.

We came here for dinner with our family of seven. Thankfully, we booked ahead as it was jam packed. And it was easy to see why as soon as we arrived. Great atmosphere, excellent vibe and really buzzing mood. We were greeted in a small room with only two tables, which was deceiving since we thought they were the only... More

Stumbled upon this unassuming trattoria near Ponte Vecchio around 18h30 and booked a table for half an hour later. Service was genuinely friendly: our host bordered joviality and was excellent with the younger (read: hungry adolescents) members of our party. The salmon was baked to a turn and the fiori di zucca crispy and savoury. My brothers t-bone was by... More

My wife and I were on our honeymoon in September of 2007. Mamma Gina's was recommended by a friend who had been there two weeks earlier. We ate dinner there during the last two nights that we were in Florence and to this day, those two meals were the best Italian food that we have EVER had! If the staff... More

Our waiter was Valentino, and his personality and sharing his love of food, wine and amore made our meal the best we have had in Italy. From the outstanding ravioli with spinach and ricotta to the chicken Mama, we left so very satisfied. This is what we had been looking for all along. We will be back!!!

If you love tasty Tuscan food with no frills and in large portions, come to Mamma Gina's. Osso bucco and tripe were so tasty. We made the mistake of having a pasta first course and struggled to make it to dessert, a pity as they looked good. Good and friendly service which just flagged a little as the restaurant filled... What a lovely place this restaurant is! We asked our hotel to recommend somewhere for a good florentine steak and they advised us to walk here, which was about 10 minutes away. Its a bit old-fashioned, but in a good way and the waiter we had (Louie) was very friendly. We shared the bistecca ala fiorentina and it was stunning,... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
