We booked a wine tasting lunch, and got the best meal on the whole trip! The spot looking over palazzo Pitti is perfect, the service was perfect and the food and wine perfect! We will come back this summer!

I never got around to putting up a review, but we visited this place twice: once in 2013 and another time in 2016. Excellent wine and food combinations. We were lucky enough to have Zeno (one of the owners) serve us the first time. While not having booked a tasting menu, he let us taste through the menu by sharing... More

I'm kind of a beer guy. I brew my own beer (because it's fun) and make fun of crafts beer because hipsters think mixing coffee and beer is really awesome, and can actually tell ale from lager and so on. I didn't dislike wine, I just didn't drink enough of it to appreciate the variety and subtlety of this drink.... More

We came here after reading about it on TripAdvisor and we were definitely NOT disappointed -- quite the opposite. We chose the lunch tasting menu, which costs $35 per person. It may seem like a lot, but it's a real bargain -- you will get 4 dishes paired with 4 EXCELLENT wines. I can't stress how amazing this experience was.... More

Delicious! We did the meal with four courses and four wine pairings. It was a perfect portion - and was quite delicious!! The staff explained the wines and the region (in English) and it made the whole experience very enjoyable. Highly recommend!!

I have reviewed this place before. It's wonderful, but oh dear they are precious. A group of 8 of us wanted to have lunch, but were told we could only have the tasting menu, which we really didn't want as it was New Year's Eve and we were due to have a tasting menu for Dinner. I suggested splitting us... More

This tiny wine bar offers enormous flavor -- and value. For 35 euros, the wine tasting lunch is incredible. Four Italian wines paired with three courses (plus a dessert wine thrown in!). We ordered one of everything and couldn't have been more pleased with any of the dishes or the wines. The chicken liver pate, fried artichoke, and beef tartare... More

I returned to Pitti Gola e Cantina in November, 2016. My husband and I had had a fantastic experience in September, 2016, and this time I was bringing four lady friends with me to have dinner. What a phenomenal place this is! It has the best energy and atmosphere. In September we were served/educated by Lorenzo. This time we were... More

While walking near Palazzo PItti we happened upon Pitti Gola e Cantina and I'm so thankful we did! It's the most delightful wine bar and although we planned to only have a glass of wine, we decided to have lunch as well. Both the Prosecco and the Sangiovese that were recommended to us were incredible and the food was delicious!... More

Description
Thank you for your interest in Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina.

We are a cozy wine shop and wine bar located in Piazza Pitti just across from the Pitti Palace. Our mission is to select the very best territorial, cultural and traditional wines produced in Tuscany and in Italy. Focusing on small production, high-end wines that are difficult to find anywhere else. Our options by the glass strongly represent this very specific selection. Our goal is to inform our clients of the wines and wine making process of Italy.

We have a limited but quite special food selection prepared daily by our chef. We offer an a la carte menu featuring Tuscan appetizers, cheeses, charcuterie and hand made first courses. Still, our dishes are designed to compliment your experience with our wines. We are not a restaurant with a full dining menu. Our kitchen is open from 1:00pm to 3:30 pm then again from 7:30 to 10:30. We are closed on Tuesdays.

Apart from a la carte dinning we are now proud to offer Dinner with an Owner. A truly unique experience awaits for wine lovers in Florence. One of the three owners of Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina will personally guide you through an extensive tasting of our selection of small production, high end Italian wines. Each of the three gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Italian wines. Through the course of the tasting you will have an opportunity to learn from them about the history, culture, processes and traditions of wine making in Italy.

Your host will spend the evening working with your specific tastes to create a personalized tasting that can accommodate every wine lover, from the expert to the novice. Accompanied by a customized, tasting menu created by our Chef.

This private tasting is extremely exclusive and as such only ONE is offered per night, on Friday and Saturday nights ONLY. Tastings commonly last from 3 to 4 hours, although depending on the clients they have been known to last even longer. As such, tasting reservations are recommended for 7:00pm (19:00). Reservations are required AT LEAST 3 days in advance, based on availability. Upon reservation any and all food specifications must be confirmed such as allergies, food intolerances, vegetarians or vegans. Only ONE menu may be offered for the entire table, so any and all food restrictions will need to be applied to the meal for everyone at the table.

Dinner with an Owner is 140,00 euro per person which will include all food and wine. A keepsake copy of your customized menu with wines will be signed by the owner and given to you at the end of the night.

We also offer The Wine Club Tasting which is offered exclusively to those clients who are interested in joining The Wine Club. Created to offer clients an opportunity to discover the types of wines that make it into the selections each year and to decide what package best suits their personal taste and needs.

During the tasting clients will sample red wines that are representative of the type of wines that are chosen for The Wine Club Selections. Featuring small production, high end Italian wines and when available, our own private labels. The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of local Italian cheeses.

We are happy to offer the tasting complementary upon the completion of The Wine Club membership contract. If you would like a copy of the packet and contract for your country of residence it can be found on our website on The Wine Club Page or please let us know and we would be happy to email one to you.

The Wine Club Tasting is offered exclusively in the afternoons from 4pm to 6pm and reservations are highly recommended. The Tasting is complementary for 2 people per signed membership contract.

Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina is proud to present The Wine Tasting Lunch. A tasting menu comprised of four wines and accompanied by a three course lunch. One of the gentlemen will assist you to select the ideal wine to pair with your dishes and to please your palate from their ample selection of Bubbles, Whites and Reds. The three courses made by our Chef will change frequently and feature fresh, seasonal ingredients. You will have your choice from 2 options for appetizer, first course and dessert.

The Wine Tasting Lunch is 35,00 euro per person which will include all food and wine. Reservations are not required but are highly recommended. Our kitchen is open for lunch from 1:00pm to 3:30pm daily, except on Tuesdays as we are closed.

For reservations please let us know what date, time, name, how many people and what type of reservation you are interested in making; an a la carte lunch or dinner, a reservation for The Wine Club Tasting, Dinner With An Owner or The Wine Tasting Lunch. We are closed On Tuesdays all day.

We thank you so much for expressing your interest in us and we do very much hope to get to see you at Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina soon!

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
