Our family of four ate here, after it being recommended by two local Florentines. The food was good, some very good, but all in all it was not as enjoyable a meal as we had elsewhere in Florence. My wife and daughter had the Florentine steak, which was good but not as good as we had hoped. I tasted it... More

I found the restaurant on Google maps. I arrived at 7:30pm as a single with no reservation. They asked if I had a reservation... of course not, but sat me anyway outside under cover in a very nice spot. By 8pm the place was packed... all locals. I was the only non-Italian. The food was very good. I ordered the... More

This is a great restaurant for all types of food, especially the beef! Great service, great wine, and I love the vegetable basket awaiting every diner.

Our hotel recommended Perseus to us as we wanted somewhere within walking distance and with a traditional cuisine. After reading the reviews we had mixed feelings but decided to try it anyway. We went on a weekday night at 7pm so it wasn't busy to start with. The decoration was interesting as we'd read, but as we were sat near... More

I visited Perseus as a walk by customer, what a nice place. Go early because this place is always packed. The manager/host was really nice and willing to assist. In general very nice vibe and the steak was awesome.

Good but very chaotic. We were there on a Saturday night, it was packed. The decor is very picturesque and fun. The meat ( famous fiorentina) is spectacularly served. The house wine in the flask is not good at all. The bathrooms are dirty ( and we are not referring to the images on the walls, not really fit for... More

This place serves Florentine steak - and it was great! You order the weight of meat, and it is cooked, brought to the table and sliced up in front of you. The menu was in Italian and told you the the meat was served medium rare only!! So don't go if you don't like blood in your meat. Would highly... More

The dinner was ok but the experience was totally ruined by the manager/owner attitude. He screamed at me very loudly (in front of the other customers!) because I asked to split the bill. I'm never going back again, he should know better than to treat customers that way.

Great restaurant, great ambiance and above all great food. Some said in their review that service is not friendly, but that is not true. Service is Tuscan with humour and local flavor. It may come over as unfriendly but when you go to a typical restaurant you have to accept the typical local atmosphere. The restaurant is wonderfully dressed up... More

A lot of meat - Tuscan specialties - and very salty. Probably to compensate for the unsalted bread served. Certainly not recommended to vegetarians. Service rather slow and inattentive. Nice location.

Staying in San Marco

Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
