This place is a total tourist trap. We spent 12 days in Italy and it was the only restaurant to have a tip line on the bill, the only one that didn't offer wines by the glass and the only one that gives you a...More

What lies beneath defies what you see from the street..The restaurant is like a small underground labyrinth! Expensive but worth it. There is an extensive menu (almost too much choice), I had the traditional lasagna and my husband the fillet steak (with other bits) -...More

The name is misleading as the Buca ( hole ) starts with a small room but the waiter led us through what seemed like endless rooms all filled with diners till he found us a table. Bit claustrophobic with tables inches apart but , who...More

Although expensive this was a superb dining experience for our last night in Florence. Menu options were very wide and waiter service unequalled . Only comment is that it was a little cramped and you are close to other dinners. We did also meet some...More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant as a traditional Italian experience and it did not disappoint. As a family of 4 we shared a meat and cheese platter and Caprese salad to start and 3 of us shared the Bistecca while one had the Bolognese. All...More

Thank you Francesco for such caring service. The Negroni was first class and our children really enjoyed their visit and that made it all the more enjoyable for us. Big portions generally, we thoroughly recommend the burrata crostini with truffle and salmon.

Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the
majority of the people arriving in Florence, which
might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists
come across the constant hustle and bustle of the
station before exiting, taking a few steps and
stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It
is impossible not to admire the the square, housing
one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The

My daughter found them to be closed in early December. Maybe tourist season is not busy enough at that time. I think they open back up before Christmas. You should be fine in August. Also try Il Porscupino Restaurant.
