My wife and I, in the midst of a four-week stay in Siena, stopped in at Boccon del Prete, without a reservation, last night. In the front dining room there are five tables--a two-top and four fours. It was 7:47 pm. Four tables were open. We were given one of the four tops, and within two minutes the other tables... More

It's quite difficult to get a table here - especially for dinner and especially on weekends - I recommend calling ahead of time by a couple days (or more). They have some incredible appetizers - I recommend getting the one with homemade walnut bread (incredible) with cheese and fruit mustard. My meal was pici with a porcini mushroom, sausage and... Had dinner here with my wife during Easter week and we shared our dishes. Next day we both had indigestion. We are quite certain that it was caused by our meal in this restaurant - we suspect the tuna starter - as we had few other meals (and we did not share any other food), and because of the timing.

Remember it well from our trip to Tuscany. Was recommended by a local shop owner and it did not disappoint. Enjoyed the Pici Pasta (local fav) with pesto with a carafe of vino de la casa -- rosso. Just up the street from Piazza del Campo on Via San Pietro.

This restaurant was recommended to us as a local gem, it didn't disappoint. We have been travelling for 3 weeks now and it was far and away our best meal so far. It is more of a local than a tourist restaurant, food, wine and prices all very good. Not to be missed on your trip to Siena.

After a recommendation from my hosts at my hotel, I had a really nice meal at this restaurant being a salad with a pork fillet with caramelised onion with balsamic sauce. The service was quick and friendly.

Food OK. Serving awful. Restaurant not living up to old stars. Go elsewhere for total impression. Mist restaurant in Siena serves good food with heart and feeling.

Four of us (teaching colleagues) visited here spontaneously for lunch, as another restaurant in the same street, where we had enjoyed an excellent lunch two years previously, was closed (presumably because it was Monday). Service was quick and friendly, and the vaulted complex of rooms attractive. We shared excellent polenta crostini (with Tuscan sausage) and crostini with smoked swordfish; chickpea... More

We came here by advise of our hotel and we really enjoyed it. The food was very good, tasty and authentic. The staff was very kind.

Walked in without a reservation. We must have lucked out because the owner had to turn away customers throughout the night because they were full. Service was spot on as was the food. Had the starter of grilled Italian sausage on polenta crostini with Parmesan sauce....OMG! The best thing I have eaten in Italy so far. Followed it up with... More
