This is a very small, cosy restaurant, with limited food options. However, the options you have are just amazing. This is where locals choose to eat so it is a great atmosphere to get the taste of Italy.

Small, local place with a soul. We were the only foreigners that night. Enjoyed a lot Italian character of the place. Nice service and great food, too. As Osteria, not sophisticated, but as for the type, great. Started with a plate of local meat (salami, prosciutto, sausage, and cheeses, including permesan and some localities). For the 2nd course, we took... More

What a perfect little cozy restaurant tucked away in this beautiful city! We had read about this place in a Rick Steves guidebook and decided to try it out, we were not disappointed. There is no menu. You walk into the restaurant and at the counter they have an assortment of veggies, meats, cheeses, etc. You can point to what... More

This is a small little restaurant in Siena. They didn't have a ton of options, but when we were there one of the options was some kind of pasta with bacon and it was SO delicious. This was the best pasta dish I had on our whole trip to Italy. I really don't even know what it was, but it... More

You really need to either know some Italian to eat here or be comfortable with pointing to what you want. The choices are a "cold" plate which consists of various sausages/cheeses and salads right in front of you (making the pointing part easy) or hot dishes of the day. The day we enjoyed lunch here there were two different toppings... More

We had two delicious lunches here. Each time we ordered a pasta dish to share as well as a spread of the prepared dishes, meats and cheeses on display. Affordable, delicious food and helpful and quick service. We ate rather early, but this place fills up quickly. Try a spread of everything!

This is a tiny little osteria on a street corner, so small you may walk right by and miss it. Don't!!! They only have a few tables inside, maybe room for a dozen people at most. If it's nice outside the may be a few tables on the street. The food is amazing. They have a revolving selection of cold... More

Love this place, buzzing, authentic and real. Eat with the locals either inside or out. Choice of different selection of dishes - delicious!

I went to Siena with a couple of friends of mine to show them the beauty of Tuscany! Osteria il Grattacielo is a tiny rustic place with a friendly and cheerful atmosphere. We had a board of charcutery and cheeses, with few bowls of differents vegetables, cold legumes salads and italian style omelettes on the side! I ordered also a... More

An old school "Osteria". No fixed/a la carte menu for lunch (the time we went) with only fresh food of the day available. Extremely friendly and polite staff. Delicious food (we had the mushroom and barley soup), delicious house wine, and a beautiful and tasty tagliere i.e. platter. We opted for them to make it up for us but there... More
