Around the corner of top tourist attraction Campo di Siena, we found this simple pub, where we had a wonderful lunch. First, it is cool inside. The atmosphere is local, nonna is cooking, wine is good, as is the food. And for little money. So,...More
Really good home cooked food. More genuine and traditional than this is difficult to get. Not a tourist trap despite the central location. An elderly man as the waiter, an elderly lady in the kitchen... Gnocci, Bisteca and cheese with a very good San Sano...More

One of our highlights of our trip! Not everyone’s cup of tea I suspect. Not posh, smart, suave but homely, relaxed, very friendly, great local food. And just off the Piazza del Campo. Need I say more.
Visiting tourist hotspots one can get cynical about finding really good value and authenticity. Locanda offers both, yet is in the heart of Siena a couple of hundred metres from Il Campo down a side street leading to the car park. It is a small,...More
