Great lunch place in Siena and not too far from the Duomo and main Piazza. Food is fresh and service is good and have a read of the card on the tables - very entertaining.

We relied on the Tripadvisor rating and this time failed miserably. Permalico is a low cost operation run by a couple of youngsters without a real kitchen which we realized too late. The staff looked exhausted and unhappy. My gnocchi were out of a vacuum pack then microwaved with a pretty bland and weak ricotta sauce. The pursciutto and fromaggio... More

First - read the decalogue that is on each table - hilarious! Second - we sat outside and enjoyed a leisurely lunch of their gnocchi special, lasagna special, porchetta panini, and wine. Great service, wonderfully central location and delicious food. Very low key place with reasonable prices. Worth a visit!!

We visited on a Sunday in August - late lunch, sitting outside, great food (platter and salad and pasta) and then we heard the drumming. Before we knew it we seemed to be in the middle of a flag-waving battle between two of the neighbourhoods involved in the Palio. What a show!! 3 sets of drummers all in traditional costumes... More

We found Permalico when searching for a restaurant in Siena and it was amazing. The place is very cozy, the price is good and the food is great! It is a small restaurant and the daily menu is fixed (you can choose among some options). We were a group of 9 people and everyone loved it. I would definitely go... More

We went to Permalico’s with a group of 17 people. Some whom had special food requirements due to allergies or religion reasons. Barbara was not only very cooperative, she prepared a meal that was amazing for everyone. Local specialties, amazing quality and the best intimate atmosphere. I’ve been to Permalico’s in the summer, when you can sit outside even though... More

This hidden gem in Siena is worth looking for. The place itself is small and rustic, the staff about 4 people, the menu limited and there is only house wine, but everything we tried was absolutely delicious, including the best Tiramisu I've ever had. The bill?...nothing much. The owner stated her philosophy in the Decalogue (photo attached) Read it and... More

Seasonal local dishes without pretense are hearty and comfortably presented. We had a lunch of a tomato and bead soup along with a tuna, greens and bean salad. We also had a glass of the inexpensive house red wine. They have a very green ethic and are laid back and you table is yours for as long as you like.... More

Our family shared a lovely meal here. There were six of us in Italy for a family wedding and we were looking for options other than pasta and pizza. The sign advertising fresh organic local produce attracted us and we were not let down. We loved the building and furnishings and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. It's a... More
