Stopped in this place by chance for lunch. We entered this time warp which does not look as if it has been updated in many decades. We were promptly given a table which should have been a tip off. We ordered the plat du jour of a half chicken, roasted potatoes and cauliflower gratin. When it arrived we were a... More

An event in the 2nd week of December not to be missed; you will "live" Geneva of1604; th costumes, the smells, even the (usually) cold December wind. Make space for L'escalade !

Centrally located near Bel Air and Manor is the only good thing about this place. The effort put on by the waiters to create an up eat atmosphere cannot disguise how bad the food actually is. Had a plat du jour "coquelet with baked potatoes and ratatouille" preceded by a green salad and it was an utter disaster all round.... More

Went as a family of five on Saturday night. Accent is on the French "Sud Ouest" but other choices are available. Trio de foie-gras is excellent especially the bloque.. Salads are fresh and tasty.Beware they are big.. Meat dishes were good with interesting sauces.. My cassoulet was delicious but again very big... A good choice while in Geneva. Very relaxed... More

Best of the bests. The duck menu is just from the heavens. Foie gras is a must but what I liked more was the grilled liver

If you like venison, then this is the place for you! We dinned here during the feature of the menu de la chasse, the dishes of which could be ordered as a set menu or a la carte. We selected the a la carte route and shared wonderful mushrooms in a pastry shell and foie gras. We each chose the... More

Going to this restaurant was a spontaneous idea. My wife and I were actually on the way home when we saw this inconspicuous restaurant. Luckily we decided to have a spontaneous dinner as the food was excellent. I had duck filet with foie gras and as side dish potato-asparagus-gratin. Great combination, super delicious. My wife had a very tender beef... More

food is average, on the greasy side, the place is quite crowded, waiters not extremely friendly. not much else to say about it.

Have been going there since the team of the Auberge de Coutance took it over. I've never been disappointed. In the past month I've been there 3 times to have the chase which is really good. Took twice the 'selle de chevreuil' which is cooked in front of you, it's a delight. The duck filet with foie gras was also... More

I got to Geneva on Saturday night. I didn't know everything would be closed on Sunday (my only full day in Geneva), so I am forever thankful that I found L'escalade at 7 p.m. on Saturday. I chose the "Duck Menu" and it was unbelievably good. Not only is it as good as anything I have had in France, but... More
