Look, you can get a steak and chips, an Italian, Chinese or Indian in any European city. What you get here is a taste (no pun intended) of being Swiss for a few hours. The place is brilliantly traditional, the food is as Swiss as it gets. It's not the a la carte the hotels and new restaurants offer...you sit... More

When there are locals you usually know you have found a good place. Wirtshaus Galliker is no exception. My husband and I had a lovely dinner (loved the beet salad)....with excellent veal cordon blue and a veal puff pastry dish with vegetables. If you are looking for excellent Swiss food and an authentic experience eat here...

We went to Wirtshaus Galliker, and really enjoyed the experience of dining with the locals. The waitresses were friendly and really welcoming. We ordered the chogalipaschtetli and rosti, and they were delicious. We were also privileged to have Mr Galliker's company. Highly recommend this place for people looking for authentic Swiss dining experience.

Had made a reservation by phone before we went to Lucerne and specifically told the restaurant that we had children with us. They were booked on a sat and sun night so we settled for a fri night reservation because we had read all the positive reviews about this place. We arrived a little later than our reserved time but... More

I went there on Thursday evening (16.02.2027) at 19:10 and was ignored by the waitresses even though I stood in front of them for a while and they were just talking to each other. When I asked for a table for 2 people, a waitress (with short blond hair in her 50s) immediately turned me away because she said they... More

Wow a friend introduced me to this restaurant and it seems it is a left over from older gentler times. The building is historic and the furniture as well. One can see that not much has changed over the years. The food offering is very classical old fashioned Swiss. Hearty and extremley tasty. Expect dishes on the menu that you... More

Arrived early lunch time and managed to get the last seats on a large communal table, where everyone new each other and all the staff by name. The mature clientele were super friendly and talkative (especially when they heard our accents). The beetroot salad & tomato soup starters were fantastic and our mains were traditional, hearty and substantial. The service... More

One of the oldest restaurants in the city, owned by the same family since generations, offers a great service and very good swiss food. Interesting wine list!

Wirtshaus Galliker definitely lived up to the good reviews on Tripadvisor. The place was full of locals and had a great atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. We went with a couple of Swiss friends who know what to expect from good local cuisine and they too were impressed. In a country where everything seems expensive to... More
