We went to the Kaffeehalle shortly before they closed the shop on Saturday evening but the friendly and helpful staff let us order some hot drinks and heated up cheese and vegetable pies without any hesistance. Food was of good quality and so we decided to buy some bread and Solothurner cake as take away which we did not regret.

Four of us ate here for lunch. We each tried a variety of decorative open faced sandwiches from the main display in front. We really liked the chicken curry and some sort of Carraibean chicken sandwich that was spicy as advertised. The shrimp salad and cheese sandwiches weren't as good to any of us. Take your coffee break here, enjoy a nice drink and a great choice of lovely desserts if you wish. There is plenty of room inside, but with nice weather it is enjoyable to sit outside.

Tea rooms are the way to go if you want something small to eat during the day. Solothurn has quite a few, but Kaffeehalle is my favourite. The Kaffeehalle is one of the finest Bäckerei/Konditorei in Solothurn. A café, bakery and pastry shop, they have a wide selection of baked goods, including morning breads and rolls, sweet treats such as pastries and deserts.
