What a crying shame.... My wife and I are staying in the Jungfrau Region (as part of a Senior Gap Year) for four months- January through to April. We are no strangers to this restaurant, having visited this stunning Region every year for the last 30 or so years. We had a great lunch meal here a couple of weeks... More

This restaurant is half way down a gorgeous blue run which cuts through the forest. Like everyone else says, you have to stop and try the apple fritters and vanilla cream (custard) Hearty rosti with cheese and bacon before you catch the train back up to Kleine Scheidegg or carry on down further.

Have been here a few times, does the most amazing apple fritters and vanilla sauce. Would thoroughly recommend a visit does really good rosti dishes too, very accessible for skiers, walkers or people coming up or down on the mountain train as is located next to the station.

Got the train back here on Saturday 14th of January, World Cup race day, as everywhere on Kleine Scheidegg was full due to bad weather. Good move as restaurant was empty so morning coffee went into lunch for 5. Good menu with usual mountain food. There is a self service part to the restaurant if you prefer. In winter it... More

On your way back down the mountain, stop off at the Brandegg station. There is just the one little eating place and it is notorious for its apple fritters and vanilla creme. We shared a plate of 3 fritters, which was plenty for the 2 of us but they do offer a plate of 5 fritters if you think you... More

A typical mountain hut with very tasty snacks. We had the cheese sandwich (lovely bread and very tasty alpine cheese), soup with pancake strips, large bowl of chips (perfect seasoning) and the apple fritters which were the highlight! We love alpine food so this was right up our street and it was an affordable stop. I would definitely return!

I am not a fan of swiss food. Food was just ok. Good thing you can enjoy food with great view of alps mountains.

Normally walk down to Alpiglen from Kleine Scheidegg and catch the train back to Grindelwald. However we are so glad we were given a recommendation to keep on walking for another 25 mins down to Brandegg. This place has a large terrace and indoor eating area. The restaurant is also located next to a halt on the rail line. We... More

A much hyped oasis on the mountain side. Great views and plenty of outside seating. Fritters are very tasty and good value. Hosts need to remember who pays their bills though and cheer up somewhat.
