My wife and I are in Lausanne for 3 nights we tried this restaurant and the food was very good. Not a lot of charm and mostly locals no one working there speaks English? We had a local dish with chicken and sausage with a...wine sauce served with French fries very tasty and under 20 sf which is a bargain in this town.More
I went there with a friend for lunch. We ate on the cafe side. The place also has a more formal restaurant side. On the good side, the location is just a few steps away south of the station, the service is prompt and friendly....The place has little (no) charme. The menu du jour at CHF 24.00 was not specially cheap compared to nearby competitive restaurants. I had a kangaroo steak with some fries and a half tomato. The plate did not come with a salad but was ok. The place did not give me a lasting impression.More
typical and rather tasty swiss caffe. if you are a bit late in the evening, but still hungry, you can ask hostess and the Chef will prepare you all that you want!
The café is just behind the railway station. The menu is not very varied but the various rosti's were all delicious and reasonably priced. The meringue with ice cream was the highlight of the dessert menu.
Restaurants like Café de l'Europe tend to disappear, small, typical, local food, local wines, no music, clean, friendly atmosphere, good pricing. I go there often with friends and always had a great time!
Nice little restaurant. The host was wonderful. Did not speak English but was helpful and attentive. The food was delicious. Service was fast.
